This was supposed to be easy – (Chapter: Making Progress)

Looking back on this now it was an awesome day because it got us to where we are today but while everything was happening all it was to me was a mix of confusion and having to face a something that I have been trying to avoid since we met.

Anyway it started out like any other day I would pick her up from school and we would go on avoiding the attraction that was felt between us, but on that day I knew that something was going to be different because as soon as she stepped out of the house I lost my breath. I don’t know what it was because Spencer always looked good but that day it was like I was looking at her for the first time all over again and I took that as a sign that no matter what happened today everything was going to be ok. I know now that this was the day that she decided that she would take our situation into her own hands and there was nothing I could do about it she claims. Whatever it was that made her come after me and open my eyes I was glad for it because I know that I wasn’t going to be to take the ‘just friends’ kick much longer. So yeah this is how it all went down:

We get to school and begin making our way to our lockers and she is walking extra close to me, not that I mind but it was making me a bit nervous. "Damn it I thought to myself…why does she have to be so close" Then the next thing I know she puts her arm around my shoulders, leans into me and whispers "You look so good today"

I stop, turn to face her, clear my throat and say "Just today? Have you been blind since I’ve met you?…I always look good" I say this with a laugh to lighten the mood and I know by me saying it in a playful manner she will back off a little bit. I can’t stand the fact that she knows how to get to me and after all this time we have spent together I think she has me figured out.

"No I haven’t been blind" she says with a hint of sarcasm, "but you are right you do always look good" she says walking backwards on her way to her class "I’ll see you at lunch…laters"
