South Of Nowhere – 2.28 – Things Meant To Be
“I haven’t seen him, Dad,” said Spencer. They were unpacking the Chinese food that Drew had picked up on the way over. She’d figured if she was going to crash their supper, she could at least feed them.
“I know, he must have forgotten his cell phone,” her father replied. Arthur smiled at Drew, who was procuring soda from the fridge. The young woman’s hips moved to the music that Ashley had put on the stereo. Arthur looked away sheepishly. Thinking she was almost young enough to be Glen’s girlfriend, and he was looking at her that way.
“Where is mom?” asked Clay.
“At the hospital, I think,” shrugged Arthur. He was paying more attention to Drew than to where his straying wife might be. Paula had been curt and sharp with him on the phone about when she was going to be home, so he wasn’t holding his breath.
“Typical,” muttered Spencer. Ashley moved behind her, kissing her cheek as she slid her hands around Spencer’s waist. Arthur didn’t watch the exchange, thinking it was one of the reasons his wife wasn’t coming home at night.
“You really need to stop coping on your mom, Spence. She’s working,” added Ashley. Drew gave her an odd look, then turned to go into the dining room, slamming right into Arthur who was heading the opposite way.
“Sorry!” said Arthur, and Drew laughed. They bent down to pick up the spilled food, banging their heads and both fell back onto their asses. Clay, Ashley and Spencer burst out laughing.
“Ouch,” groaned Drew. Rubbing her forehead, blinking and pulling her hand away from where they’d bumped heads. Finding blood on her fingertips. “Ash, get me a towel or something?”
“Oh my god, you’re bleeding,” said Arthur, scurrying over to her side. “Are you ok?”
“Flesh wound, just a flesh wound, my friend,” smiled Drew. She took the towel that Ash offered her, wincing at the sight of blood. “She’s skittish, Ash, are you not fond of blood?”
“No, hate it, Clay, I’m going to faint, catch me?” said Ashley dramatically, putting a hand to her forehead, Clay just stood there, wry grin in his face, holding his plate.

sheesh…glen has really hit rock bottom…that sux anad to think of all the shit aiden is going through right now and he is still being a great friend…damn…hahhaha arthur and drew….wow lol…it could happen…it’d be kinda messed up considering the circumstances…but it could happen lol. w/e…post more soon! i loved it…

Awesome and so sad…I feel for Glen, been through it with my brother, it is tough habbit to kick..I hope he does. Right now I wish the baby was Aiden’s but I think it is Glen’s..I hope it strighten him out! Thanks for posting had been missing this story.
