    Author Notes:

    A night out.

    I’m jostled out of my trance by the sudden ringing of my phone.

    "Like what you see?" She says in a husky tone.

    I look out the window, my gaze met by smoky brown eyes. I look at her stunned and speechless, my mind was racing and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t form one coherant sentence.

    "Just come down stairs already." She says smiling, obviously pleased with herself.

    Taking one last look at myself, I make my way downstairs stopping before opening the front door. I wet my lips and take a deep cleansing breath before sliding the door open. I step across in to the cold night air, and close the door behind me hearing it lock. She strides confidently towards me, a lop-sided grin on her face. I wait until she’s reached the sidewalk and then step out of the shadows and into the light. Ashley comes to an abrupt halt and I hold back my nervous laughter. I watch her face as her eyes move slowly up and down my body, lingering at the swell of my hips and the rise and fall of my breasts and finally settling back on my face. A pleasant warmth flows through me. I watch her full, mobile mouth move as if to speak, but nothing comes out of it. Finally, just as I am about to drop my eyes, she takes one more step towards me and murmurs, "Wow."

    I smile. "Do you like what you see?"

    She gives a slow nod of her head and a lock of hair falls over her brow. I reach up and put the stray strand back into place. Her eyes lock onto mine and I present her with a sly grin. I mentally chalk up a point for myself. I haven’t hung around Ashley for ten years without learning a thing or two about the snappy, innuendo-laden come-back.

    "Hey, Spence? Say a prayer for me, will you?" she says nervously.

    "Why?"

    "Because I’ve got this feeling I’m gonna need all the help I can get tonight." She bites down on her bottom lip, eyeing me one last time. She extends her hand out to me. "Ready to show them all up?"

    I nod my head and take her hand. She gives it a little squeeze and winks at me before leading me to her car.

    5. I definitely like what I read….and really hope that the evening ends with them together….we know they belong together :) I loved how Ashley is pretending to be Spencer’s gf for Spencer to save fact infront of her Ex….nice touch :)
