“Blind? What do you mean she’s blind?”

“I’m telling you Giles, Willow did her little spell thingy, which was totally cool by the way, and it showed her some school for the blind!”

“Well that explains what the Coven meant by her being ‘different from the others’. But, that shouldn’t matter Dawn.”

“But… but… I’ve never known anyone who was blind! What do I do? How do I communicate with her?”

“She’s blind girl, not deaf!” quips Kennedy from across the room.

Dawn gives Kennedy one of her famous eye rolls and continues on, “Giles, I don’t know if I can do this.”

“Do I have to keep holding all of your hands?” says Giles full of exasperation. “I wouldn’t have sent you if I didn’t think you could do it. Just remember everything we talked about during your training and you’ll be fine. You know what to do so just do it.” Dawn could hear muffled noises in the background. “Dawn, I have to go. The construction crew just arrived. Tell everyone to have faith and call me tomorrow with the testing results.”

“OK… bye,” says Dawn hanging up the phone. “A lot of help he was.”

“Listen…,” Willow says walking over to Dawn and placing her hands on her shoulders. “I’ve had a lot of trouble adjusting to knowing that I could possibly destroy the world with magic. I’m full of doubt every time I think about doing a spell. But, I know I was meant to be a witch and meant to be here. Just like you’re meant to be a watcher Dawnie! I’ve known you for a long time and I know you can do it!”

“Thanks Willow,” replied Dawn giving Willow a big hug.

“Awwww… that was so sweet. Are ya done with the ‘I’m not ready stuff’ because we really need to get going?” questions Kennedy with a grin while she hoists her weapons bag onto her shoulder. “It’s time to roll!” Kennedy can feel her adrenaline rising already and her job won’t start until nightfall!

“Yeah… we can do this!”

“Our first recruit!” yells Dawn, excitedly sticking out her hand in the middle of the three of them. Kennedy and Willow echo Dawn’s words and add their hands to hers. Their new job is about to really begin.
