“Yeah, I did.”

     She smiles and starts to walk closer.

     “You look good.” She tells me.

     “So do you.” I say. “You look beautiful.”

     She smiles bright and mouths thank you as she tilts her head. That smile that I fell in love with when I first met her. I can feel my heart racing. I need to tell her everything I’m feeling inside. I may not get another chance.

     “It’s been a long time.” She says.

     “About five years.” I say, like I didn’t know that by heart already. She nods.

     We’re quiet for sometime. I look at her hard and start to think how different she looks out here, instead of inside there with that man. In there she belongs to him, but out her she’s with me, I have her right now.

     “Spencer,” I whisper, “we should talk.”

     “About what Ashley?” She asks, and I can hear the annoyance in her voice.

     “I think you know.” I say standing my ground. She shakes her head and starts to turn around.

     “I should get back inside, my husband is probably wondering.” She says reaching for the door.

     “Stop.” I grab her arm and stop her. She turns around and faces me again. “Don’t do this.”

     “Do what Ashley?” She asks folding her arms. She’s getting mad.

     “We need to talk about what happened.”

     “There’s nothing to talk about.” She says making another move to head back inside.

     “Then way did you come out here huh?” I say raising my voice. She stops. “Why did you invite me here?”

     She’s quiet, and I start to lose patients.

     “Spencer.” I say a little too harshly.

     “All you had to do was tell me you loved me!” She shouts. I was a little taken back. She turns around to face me again and her cheeks are stained with tears.

     “You broke my heart Ash.” She says, and I feel the daggers in my chest like I did five years ago. I step closer to her.

     “I’m telling you now Spence, I loved you with all my heart, you were my first true relationship, my first real love, and you still are, I still love you Spence,” I find the courage to be centimeters away from her face as my words turn into whispers. “I’m still in love with you… I can’t fade away.”

     With that said I crash my lips on to hers. Her lips are still as soft as they were when I first kissed her. They’re still smooth and sweet. I kiss her with all my passion hoping she feels the same way. Hoping she forgives me and still loves me like she use to. But she pushes me back.

     “Ash… I- I can’t, this is my wedding day.” She says. I start to feel guilty. What am I thinking? I lick my lips, tasting hers on mine and take a few steps back.

     “I’m sorry.” I whisper. “I’ll just go.” I say. She quickly looks away from me and I take that as a sign. It was over five years ago. I should have never of came here.
