The Dark Side – (Chapter: Remember Me)

    “Do you like it Spencer?”

“Yes it’s very becoming, you look beautiful,” she said kissing me again.

Our lips were still pressed together and my back was facing the entrance of the room.  Martha was quickly approaching, her response to meeting me will determine whether I eliminate her now or wait.

“Oh excuse me Miss Spencer I didn’t mean to interrupt.  I just wanted to bring the flowers into the living room.”

“It’s okay Martha and since you’re here I would like to introduce you to my special friend, Ashley Davies.”

As Spencer said my name I slowly turn to face her housekeeper.

“Good evening Martha, it’s a pleasure to meet you,” I said my grin wide enough that she could see my pearly whites were normal.  My goal was to put doubt in her mind as to what she saw last night.

“Good evening Miss Davies we finally meet,” she said extending her hand.

I quickly shake her hand and watch for a reaction.  She shivers to my touch and looks at me with a questioning gaze.

“Have we met before Miss Davies?” Martha asked me rubbing the hand I shook.

I stare deeply into her eyes daring her to recognize me. “No I don’t think so Martha.  Spencer where is your bathroom?”

“Up the stairs, first door on your left,” Spencer replied.

“Thank you,” I said as I walked away, “it was nice meeting you Martha.”

“Yes same here Miss Davies.  Are you sure we haven’t met before?”

    “Yes I’m quite sure.”

As I make my way to the bathroom, I hear Martha whispering to Spencer.

“Martha watches as Ashley leaves the room, then it dawns on her where she recognized Ashley from.

“Miss Spencer I have seen your friend before, right here in this house, in this very room.”

“Martha Miss Davies has only been here a couple of times and that was just to pick me up and drop me back at home.  You weren’t here when she did that.”

“I have seen her before Miss Spencer, she looks a little different, I only saw the back of her head.”

“Then how are you recognizing her if you only saw the back of her head? And what does it matter if you recognize her anyway?”

“I… I don’t know, all I know is that she’s dangerous.  I can feel it.”

“Dangerous…? Dangerous how Martha, you don’t even know her.  Your over protectiveness is getting the best of you.  You’re beginning to sound like Aiden.”

“Please Miss Spencer stop seeing her.  She’s evil… I saw her…”  Martha stops talking when Ashley reenters the room.

I stayed in the bathroom for about five minutes because I knew Martha was trying to tell Spencer about me.  I wanted to hear what she was going to say, so I listened until she was about to tell her about seeing me bite Spencer.  That conversation has sealed Martha’s fate.  I will deal with her later.

“Hey beautiful you’re back.”  Martha stood next to Spencer glaring at me. I smirk at her and nod my head.  Her eyes widened.  “Martha you can go now, enjoy your evening with your family and I’ll see you in the morning”

    “But Miss Spencer…”

    “Goodnight Martha.”

I watch Martha continue to stare at me as she slowly left the room.  Now that she was gone, I turn my attentions back to my blonde beauty, “was I gone too long?”

“Yes, if you’re gone for one second away from me you’re gone too long.   Martha has dinner already on the table.  Shall we just skip the appetizer and just eat the main meal?”

    “That’s fine with me Spencer.”
