Strange & Beautiful – (Chapter: Heal Over)

Spencer awoke in the morning to the light muffle of her mother’s voice. It sounded as if her mother may have been calling her name. She sat up in the bed yawned lazily. It was time for school again.

Here she was, usually comfortable with herself and with her relationship with Ashley. While she concealed it well, sometimes the whole thing was heavy on her. While she undoubtedly loved Ashley unconditionally, she couldn’t help but feel guilty about the situation at home. Today her brother’s were both moving out. They were going to live with their mother in a suburb closer to the hospital.

Last night Spencer had come down the stairs for a drink of water. She heard her father in the living room as she passed it. There the head of the Carling home sat, his head in his hands bawling. Spencer felt tears trickle down her cheek. She had yet to grasp the fact that her family really was collapsing until that moment. She knew that her father didn’t blame her, but everyone else did.

She cried her self to sleep that night. She missed her old family, her old mother, hell she missed her old father. Yet most of her tears were from guilt. Not guilt in the sense that she’d caused the problems, but instead because she’d do everything all over again if she’d get to be with Ashley. Ashley was her everything, everything else was just a blur.

She went to her private bathroom, and smiled at the mirror. There she’d taped a picture of her and the brunette. Aiden had taken the picture without either of the two knowing. They were of course looking at each other. Ashley was resting her head in the crook of Spencer’s neck whispering to her. Spencer laughed uncontrollably at the dirty joke.

“That was before we were even dating.” Spencer said out loud only to herself before beginning to brush her teeth.

She undressed and then stepped into the steaming shower. Allowing the water to fall freely down on her body, the whiff of the soap attacked her senses.

‘Scent is the strongest scent tied to memory’ Spencer remembered Ashley telling her one morning they’d shared a shower. She realized that the thoughts that assaulted her mind at that moment had sent an arousal to her belly. She looked down at her hands and realized this was going to be a long shower.

    1. I CAN”T BELIEVE THAT IT HAS BEEN TWO MONTHS!!!!! I am so glad that you are writing again because I love this story line. I also like the character Rebecca, she is funny. I hope that Paula will leave Spencer alone because she can be with Ashley and since Spencer is older than 10. She can chose who to live with, and I know that it will be Mr. C. I can’t wait to read the next chapter. PMS!!!!!
