Rude Comments and Silent Tears. – (Chapter: I Felt Like I Could Fly.)

As I enter my house, I hapily walk up my stairs and walk into my room. I close the door behind me, only to lean up against it when its shut. I sigh with a goofy grin on my face, when I think about Ashley, my furture girlfriend. I like the sound of that. I go over to my desk and set my backpack down. I better get started on my math homework or else I’ll never get it done. But I can’t, her face keeps on popping back into my head as I try to concentrate. I can’t help but to smile again.

I felt like I could fly. Like I was about to drift on up to the clounds any minute now. Instead of doing my homework, like a good little girl, I thought "Hey why not lay on my bed and daydream about Ashley some more." And that was just what I did. Until, I was interrupted by my mother calling for me to get to the dinner table soon. I jumped back into reality as I breezed on down to my dinning room and took a seat.

"Well now that your here," my mom announced, "we can all say grace." After our thanks were said, we all dug into the famous Carlin family pasta, that my dad made. And might I say, it really is amazing. My mom spoke up, disturbing everyone’s comfortable silence.

"So Spencer, have you meet any nice boys at your school lately?"

    "Nope."

"Why not? You know Aiden is a very nice boy. And he’s cute too." Eww, my mom thinks Aiden is cute. Weird.

"Aiden is an ass. Along with Glen."

"Watch you launguage, now." My dad warned me.

    "Sorry." I muttered.

"I’m worried about you." My mom started again.

    "Why?"

"I have never seen you bring home a boy, or ever talk about having a boyfriend, or even a crush."

"That doesn’t mean you have to worry. Just because I’m not boy crazy doesn’t mean there’s something wrong." Then Glen butt in.

"Well, that ’cause you and Ms. Davies are always all over each other." You stupid idiot. Why did you have to bring that up? Especially with mom here. See, my mom is like, a huge homophobic.
