Roommates – (Chapter: Damsel in Distress! Lover in Peril! Pt. 2)

Lauren of course, was thrown into the back of a police car to be carted off to jail. I was going to make sure she got the most severe sentence possible for hurting Spencer. But I don’t care about Lauren right now. I care only about Spencer. She was the only person that mattered to me right here, right now.

We got to the E.R. where doctors rushed over to her side. “We’re sorry ma’am, but you’ll have to wait outside.” They said. “No! You don’t understand; she’s my girlfriend- she’s the only person I have besides my sister!” I sobbed, struggling against the strong arms of hospital personnel who started dragging me outside. “We understand that it’s painful for you to have to wait out here while she is in there, but this is hospital policy.” I angrily threw off the hands of the staff on me and retreated to a seat by the door of the E.R. I brought my knees up to my chest and rested my arms on top of them, burying my head there as I cried my eyes out. She had to survive; this sounds selfish, but she had to survive for me. Her radiant, golden tresses were my sunshine along with her smile; her love was the air that I breathed; her touch was the very thing that kept my heart beating. If she died, I was certain that I would go right along with her.

Give me physical rather than emotional pain any day. It was pure agony pacing back and forth for countless hours outside the E.R. Kyla finally came to the hospital and we sat together outside the room. I couldn’t see Spencer at all when I looked through the 2 small oval shaped windows. All I saw was a team of doctors and nurses yelling and shifting things in a tight circle around the operating table. It was almost daybreak when they finally brought her out and wheeled her over to the ICU. The sun’s ray where beginning to filter through the blinds. Seeing them hook her up to all these machines made tears come to my eyes all over again. “Spencer.” I said softly, praying that somehow she could hear me. I took her hand gently in mine and stroked it with my thumb. “Spence. Please wake up.” I said. I could hear my voice cracking. “Is she going to be alright?” Kyla asked one of the doctors. “Depends. Hopefully she’ll be ok, but there’s a 50/50 chance. Her heart gave out once in the E.R. but as you can see, we managed to bring her back. There’s still the danger of one of more of her organs failing.” Fuck. I buried my head in my hands and sat down next to her side. Spencer couldn’t die on me. I would sit there and make sure she didn’t. If she needed a transplant, fuck I’d give any and every one of my organs for her.
