Once upon a time, there were two wealthy families that had absolutely despised each other. The Carlins and the Davies. These families were equally alike in respect from and for the community of Los Angeles. But, when it came to having respect for each other, well, that’s a whole different story. The families had been fighting for son longe that neither house remembered why or how or even when it had started. They just carried it on throughout generation after generation. That was the way the were almost sure it was going to stay forever. But its amazing how everything else changes when just two people fall in love.

One day, on the streets of Los Angeles, a fight broke out between the houses of the Carlins and the Davies. They all got a warning from the police but if it ever happened again, they would be banished from Los Angeles. When the fight was ended and people were leaving, Christing, head of the Davies along with her husband, Raife, turned and asked Madison, her niece "Have you seen my daughter, Ashley today? I’m just glad she wasn’t in this terrible brawl. "

"Yeah, I saw her early this morning, she has been very upset and gloomy lately, though, so I didn’t want to bother her by talking." Madison told her aunt and uncle.

Raife chimed in "She locks herself in her room all day and shuts the sun and any form of light out." he said

"Do you know why, Uncle Raife?" Madison asked, worried about her cousin.

"No." Said Raife

"Have you asked her?" Madison asked.

"Yes, but she won’t tell anyone. But I wish I did know, then I could find some way to get her out of her depression." He said sadly, as Ashley walked towards them.

"Her she comes, I’ll try and figure this out." Madison said, determined to find out.

"Okay, tell us when you do."  Christine said as Arthur and her went home.

"Hey Ashley, nice morning isn’t it?" Madison cheerfully greeted her cousin.

"Morning? What time is it?"

"About 11:00."

"God, these sad hours seem so much longer. Was that my dad, Madison?"

"Yeah, but what sadness do you have that makes the hours longer?" Madison asked.

"They’re longer because I don’t have the one thing that makes them fly by." Ashley sighed.

"Ashley! Are you in love?" Madison finally figured it out.

"Out." Ashley replied.

"You’re out of love?" Madison asked confused.

"No, I’m out of her love, she doesn’t love me, Mad."

"Oh." Madison said, not quite knowing what to say. "Who is it, Ashley?" Madison asked her.

"I don’t even know if I can say her name." Ashley told Madison.

"Just tell me." Madison said

"It’s Sam."

"Sam, Sam, Sam?" Madison said to herself, trying to picture who she was talking about. "OH! Sam, that girl that works down at the music store, that you have English and gym with?"

"Yeah her." Ashley sadley responded.

"Forget about her, find another girl. I’ll help you" Madison easily said.

"What if you can’t?" Ashley asked sadly.

"I’ll pay that bill, or die in debt." Madison reassured her, as Ashley walked away.
