    Ash gets a visitor and the past rears its beautiful face… again

    … which is why it came as a shock to me when I woke one morning to find a note on the pillow next to mine, stating that she’d gone back to university early due to an important assignment; that she’d told my father she’d had to leave; that I should apologise to him again for her leaving so abruptly; that she was extremely grateful for the placement with Track One, and that she’d be in touch with me at some unspecified time.  The lack of heartfelt words in her letter left me broken – there was no mention of where we stood or how she felt about me, and after several weeks of moping around over her without hearing a thing, I finally plucked up the courage to look her up and visit her accommodation at UCLA.  I would never forget the moment when it all came crashing down around me, when I realized that all I’d been was a convenience and that she’d just been using me all along:

    I rang the bell to her apartment and waited for a response.  An unfamiliar voice asked who was there and I responded casually, informing her that I was an old friend of Spencer’s.  The woman seemed content with my answer and so let me up to the apartment where she informed me that ‘Spence’ had just popped out but would be back soon, and that I should wait as she’d no doubt be pleased to see me.  I doubted it.  I sensed something was off, and so upon being asked who I was I gave a fake name and lied about how Spence and I knew each other, eliciting a satisfied nod and a smile from the woman who then introduced herself to me as “Anna, Spencer’s girlfriend”.  I tried to ignore the sound of my heart shattering in my chest as I somehow manipulated the direction of the conversation to lead to me discovering that Spencer had in fact returned home from Track One due to Anna finding out she’d been shagging one of her colleagues and Spencer feeling the need to right her wrongs and fix the relationship.  There was no pressing assignment to be completed, and no future together that she’d promised me when we had whispered sweet nothings after night upon night of amazing, passionate love making.  I felt the fool that I was and quickly made excuses to leave before Spencer returned home to find me waiting there awkwardly for her.  I doubted she even knew I’d been there, as the name I’d given – Sandra Clarke (actually Aiden’s mother’s name) – and the bar I’d said we’d worked at together, hence knowing each other – Hush (which was actually an indie shoe shop in which I frequently shopped in LA) – wouldn’t lead Spencer back to me.  I also guessed that, upon learning that Spencer didn’t have a clue who it was that had visited and claimed to be an old friend, Anna would put two and two together and realize that I was the colleague Spence had been shagging, and so wouldn’t tell Spencer enough about me to let her catch on to the fact it was me who’d been round.  Spencer would get away with everything she’d done to both me and  Anna, and I was too weak to stop it.  I merely returned home and quickly resigned from my position at Track One.

    That was when mom withdrew my finances and kicked me out of the house…

    Spencer just seemed to be the beginning of my problems…

    2. Wow. Now we know why Ash is pissed. I would be too if the person I was falling in love with did that to me. Update soon, would ya? I’m ready for some more “project new girl”. :] Woot. And I think there might just be more behind the story then what is at first revealed. Hmm?

    4. shut up! how could spencer do that?! ughhh. poor ashley :-(. this is like..the only time i feel bad for her lol. cuz honestly, after the season finale i feel no remorse towards her. well…i say that now cuz i dont know whats going to come about in season 3 haha buuut…still. great update! cant wait for more!
