P.S. I Love You – (Chapter: living in love.)
“I think he’s trying to prove to people that love hurts…and it’s something that we all strive for yet no matter what happiness it may bring it still brings pain…” she said
“impressive…” the teacher commented “…Miss Davies, on Shaw’s personal level…where do you think he’s coming from?” she asked me
“um…I think he’s trying to say he’s had his heart broken. No great English play write would use such English and grammar without having experience…Shaw uses the English language at its peak, giving it the most meaning even with the fewest words…” I told her
“this is true…did you ever finish reading his play that I gave you?” she asked me
“yes I did Mrs. Baker” I told her
“and what did you think?” she asked
“well…it’s George Bernard Shaw…anything by him or Oscar Wilde will catch my eye…” I told her
“over achiever…” Aiden whispered
“shut up.” I told him “she asked”
“ah Miss Carlin…something you’d like to add?” she asked Spencer as she had her hand raised
“yeah…I disagree with her…” she said which caught my attention “…I mean, I don’t think you have to experience anything to realize love brings on enough pain, because we’ve all heard war stories of relationships…and the media today especially promoting the ruin of relationships…” she said
“yeah but Shaw wasn’t writing this during modernization…he wrote this before we’ve all heard of the name merge break ups…” I retorted making the class laugh a little
“yeah, but he’s probably heard of relationships before…he didn’t have to experience heart break on his own with his lover…he could have seen it first hand…”
“but what if that first hand experience broke his own heart from the sight?” I asked Spencer “that’s still him experiencing heartbreak on his own” I told her stirring up an argument
“I think he was right…” Aiden chimed in
“what?” I snapped at him
“what was that Aiden?” the teacher asked him
“Shaw…I think his quote it right…having your heart break sucks, but he’s just proving that you have to fight like hell to see the brighter side to things…love’s an open thing, and if you’re open to it then you may catch it…” he said
“very good Aiden…” the teacher said then Spencer and I slouched in our chairs
