Spencer grinned to herself. She felt special to have something named after her, even if it was just a dog. She scratched behind the puppy’s ear. “Hey, Gobby.” She smiled to herself as the white fur ball snuffed and snuggled in closer.

Besides work, Spencer barely ever saw Ashley anymore. Even then, they didn’t talk about trivial things like they used to, just work. Then to Spencer’s irritation, Jason would always pop in every so often unexpectedly. And he had the nerve to kiss Ashley in front of her and then try to make a conversation.

“JERK!” Spencer muttered as he once more entered without warning. She wasn’t in the best of moods with the photoshoot she was working on not going anywhere, and it worsened when he leaned down by Ashley and–

Spencer kept her eyes locked on her computer screen. She heard a wet smack and cringed. Only when she heard his voice did she dare look back over. Jason smiled sweetly and waved to her. “Hiya!” he squealed.

“Hmm.” Spencer turned back to the screen, uninterested at his sappy chit-chat he always forced upon her.

She heard him whisper, “What’s wrong with her?”

Ashley answered loud enough for Spencer to hear, “That time of the month.” They shared a laugh, earning them both death looks.

“Fuck you,” Spencer spat.

“Are you upset because I’m never home?” Ashley asked curiously.

“I don’t give a flying fuck if you’re home or not,” Spencer snapped. “It’s much more peaceful without you around.” She felt bad instantly as she saw the hurt in her partner’s eyes.

“I didn’t know I was such an inconvenience,” Ashley said quietly.

“Oh, Silly-Pee!” Jason cried. “You can live with me!”

“No, we agreed to do that after we’re married. And don‘t call me that.”

“That’s stupid,” Spencer voiced. “Why would you get married to someone without knowing what they’re always like? Same goes for sex. You know, what if you just totally clashed? Then you’re totally screwed if you find out that after you’re married.”

Jason’s eyes burned. “Just because we don’t do things before we wed doesn’t mean we’ll clash. We love each other and both of us know everything about each other. Waiting to experience things together like sex and a home is genuine love.”
