One of Those Girls – (Chapter: Now you’re in and you can’t get out)
One of Those Girls <3
Ashley’s POV:
Junior year in high school, everything was changing so fast. Sophomore year was a joke, then this year with college applications, it was so intense. There was one month of school left we got out June 8th. I was the head cheerleader at a prep school in Ohio. I know, Cleveland, it sucked! The cheerleaders were popular, but not bitchy, people just thought we were. Going to a prep school we have to keep a average GPA of 3.0 I held a 3.5. We wore uniforms at school, guys had to wear black, navy or gray pants, white shirt and tie. The girls had to wear a white polo, knee socks and we had the choice of navy, khaki, yellow or light blue skirts. There were 300 people in each class. It was the seniors last week, which was sad because some of my best friends were in that class.
“Ashley! You going to practice tonight?” Brooke yelled from her seat in morning assembly
“yeah why?!” I yelled back
“wait…hold on!” she yelled getting out of her seat to walk over by me I laughed
“haha wow Brooke…so why did you want to know if I was going to practice?”
“no reason, just making sure you’re there my last week of school…I’m gonna miss you!” she said giving me a hug
“I know Brooke I’m gonna miss you too!” then our dean got up to go give the announcements so Brooke went to go back and sit down
“see you in algebra 2” she said laughing while walking away
“let’s sit down Miss Johnson” Dean Mallard said to Brooke as she was the only one not in her seat and everyone laughed
“yeah, yeah I’m going!” she said making everyone keep laughing
This week the seniors had been giving speeches about whatever, it was like open mic. So then a girl I hadn’t seen before got up to talk
“hey guys!” she started…I’ve never seen her at school before, but apparently everyone else knew who she was so she clearly had friends.
“so…hard to believe we only have one week left right?” everyone cheered “yeah! So…I’ve been going here since freshmen year, and I’ll be honest, sorry Dean Mallard, but if it weren’t for all of our here high school would have been terrible. I love coming to school everyday looking forward to seeing what stupid things my friends do or say. What jokes Ryan will tell in English, or what Doc. Nowak will say about some stupid freshmen she yelled at” everyone laughed “now if I could, I would go back and re live every day of high school with you guys. Especially Megan and Erin…you guys have been my best friends since 6th grade. But I would go back, or at least stop time, just so we could all have one more day together…I would never want to be in any other graduating class…so here’s to all of you…lets make this last week count!” everyone got up and started clapping and cheering and she laughed…she had the most amazing smile I had ever seen. I mean I admit I’m not gay…maybe a little bi. Well not even bi…more bi-curious? I dunno, like I think everyone is born a little bi, it’s just a fact.
