Once more, with feeling – (Chapter: (I'll be) your forever)

I think I’ve always loved ashley davies, but it wasn’t until I finally went to one of her concerts that I realized that I was in love with her, and that she might just feel the same way. don’t get me wrong, she didn’t even know I existed. That is, until she glanced in my direction and her chocolate eyes were glued to my blues for the rest of the concert, even until she walked off the stage. I had heard her music before, of course, she was pretty famous. but I suppose I should explain… Where to start…. Right, my best friend, chelsea, knew that I adored ashley’s music so when she heard that she was playing a show fairly local, she grabbed some front row tickets for me. "ohmigod, chels, these are not what they say they are!" I squeal resembling a school girl. "yeah, girl, they are. I’m taking you to see your future wife this weekend." She told me matter of factly. "how did you-" "I’ve been your best friend since like preschool, I think I should know how you act around someone you like." chelsea cut me off. "but I’ve never been around ashley." I reasoned. "true, but every time one of her songs come on the radio, you hush everyone and shoot death glares at anyone who tries to say anything, you have every cd she ever made, and not to mention the 5 billion pictures that you have of her on your phone." Chelsea grabs my cell and waves it in front of my face for emphasis. All of what she said was true, I loved every single song she ever sang, every picture she was in, every note she ever played. She was ashley davies, super-sexy rockstar that had talent handed to her by the gods, themselves. She was perfect, is perfect. Well anyway, of course my only response could have been a blush. My best friend knows me too well… Needless to say, the week went by painfully slow, so by the time saturday actually came, I was fidgety and impatient about everything! Finally time for the concert and I had the best seat in the stadium, center front row! I love chelsea, I really do. I watched ashley throughout the first couple of songs, watched the way her hair swayed when she moved her head, the way her lips and tongue moved when she sang, the way her fingers strummed her guitar strings, the beat her foot made as she tapped it against the stage floor, and finally the way her eyes scanned the crowd, as if she were looking for someone. She scanned, that is, until her eyes flickered to mine. She stopped searching as her backup band began to strum the beginning chords of I’ll be, one of my favorite songs. She opened her mouth and the most beautiful sound escaped as she sang straight to me. (well a girl can dream, can’t she?) The strands in your eyes that color them wonderful Stop me and steal my breath. And emeralds from mountains thrust toward the sky Never revealing their depth. Tell me that we belong together, Dress it up with the trappings of love. I’ll be captivated, I’ll hang from your lips, Instead of the gallows of heartache that hang from above. Her eyes still had not left mine since she found them at the beginning of the verse. I was mesmerized by her words and her stare. She began the chorus without missing a beat while my heart threatened to go into arrest from beating so quickly. I’ll be your crying shoulder, I’ll be love’s suicide I’ll be better when I’m older, I’ll be the greatest fan of your life. she could be anything she wanted of mine at that point, I was hooked. I knew then, that I had it bad for a rockstar that I could never have. I hated myself; one, for falling for someone (that was impossibly unavailable) so hard, and two, for not keeping my mouth shut (as I had suddenly felt the urge to belt out the lyrics that I, of course, knew by heart. And rain falls angry on the tin roof As we lie awake in my bed. You’re my survival, you’re my living proof. My love is alive — not dead. Tell me that we belong together. Dress it up with the trappings of love. I’ll be captivated, I’ll hang from your lips, Instead of the gallows of heartache that hang from above I wanted to crawl under a rock and die when I saw her nose-crinkling smile. I knew she saw me singing her song like a bafoon but I couldn’t stop myself from belting out the second chorus. I’ll be your crying shoulder, I’ll be love’s suicide I’ll be better when I’m older, I’ll be the greatest fan of your life. I left her finish the song without butchering it any further, as I missed hearing her voice. And I’ve dropped out, I’ve burned up, I’ve fought my way back from the dead. I’ve tuned in, turned on, remembered the things that you said I’ll be your crying shoulder, I’ll be love’s suicide I’ll be better when I’m older, I’ll be the greatest fan of your… I’ll be your crying shoulder, I’ll be love’s suicide I’ll be better when I’m older, I’ll be the greatest fan of your life. The greatest fan of your life. …greatest fan of your life. She finished the song a smile on her face which made the corners of my lips curl as well. My stomach was in knots but full of butterflies as she held my gaze even until she stepped onto the stairs in the back of the stage. She descended out of sight and I immediately felt empty and alone. I knew chelsea was right there beside me with my brother, clay, but their company paled in comparison to what I had just shared with ashley. "that was awesome, right, spence?" Chelsea pulled me from my thoughts. "yeah, chels, thanks," I smiled at my best friend. "we should go before traffic is hell getting out of here." clay cut in. my brotIher, always so practical. We all agree and start heading for the exit, that is, until a big, burly, muscle-man stepped in front of us. "you’re gunna have to come with me," he told me in a deep, intimidating voice. "what did I do? I swear we have tickets." I gush. "I’ve only been asked to bring you backstage by miss davies. She said that she would explain once I got you back there safely." My eyes shot open wide. ashley davies wanted to see me? ohmigod, she knew I was starting at her, and she thinks I’m a stalker! I gulp silently. "okay, lead the way, I guess." "spence, what about us? How are you going to get home?" Clay asked, again, always practical. "um, I’ll take the bus or call a cab or something. I’ll be okay, clay." I reassured him. "okay, just call me or chelsea if you need me." "i will, love you, guys." I then followed the incredible hulk to the long hallway filled with heavy metal doors. I was about to meet ashley davies, rockstar extraordinaire and my idol since she started making music. The intimidator walked me through a door with a black and silver plaque that has ‘a. Davies’ engraved on it. We come to a halt as none other than ashley davies greets her messenger. "thanks, diesel, I can take it from here. Go ahead and take the rest of the night off." "the girls brother was concerned about a ride home for her, d." diesel told ashley. "I’ll take care of that, no problem. Have a good one, and thanks." Ashley told her bodyguard. He seemed satisfied, and exited the room, which I assume is ashley’s dressing room. "he didn’t scare you, did he? He’s a big guy, but he’s a total softy." Ashley chuckled. She glanced at me as if waiting for my response. Of course she was talking to me, there was no one else in the room. I felt like an idiot because I just started at her in disbelief. her giggle brought me out of my thoughts. "oh, right, no, I just thought I’d done something wrong. He is pretty intimidating though." I replied, trying to play it cool… Did I
mention I was failing? She giggled again, "yeah, he has that effect on a lot of people." I smiled at her and then frowned. "um, not that I’m not grateful or at all unhappy that you did, but why did you get him to bring me back here?" It had to be said sooner or later. "well to be honest, I actually saw you when I was on stage and I thought we had a connection. It was something I haven’t felt In a long time and I just thought that maybe we could explore it a little." She told me as she inched closer to me. "i know you saw me and I felt something too. I just don’t understand how it would work out." I told her truthfully. "well I thought that we could just play it by ear and see where the night takes us." She said only a foot away from me. Could feel her body brush against me before I felt her lips brush against mine. I couldn’t believe that I was kissing ashley davies. I then realized that she was actually kissing me and I was kind of standing there like a wet noodle, my knees going weak, but not kissing her back. I pressed my lips back against hers and that seemed to ignite a passion within us both that we couldn’t hold back. Our tongues slipped against the other’s, and I felt as if I was floating away until I felt ashley’s arms wrap around my waist and tether me down. I think I started to turn purple from the lack of oxygen but I sure as hell wasn’t going to break away from a kiss with ashley davies. She seemed to feel my pain because she pulled back but rested her forehead against mine. "wow," was all she said and my heart soared. "yeah, wow," I followed her. after that first kiss, I knew we weren’t just going to go our separate ways and never see each other again. I knew it then, and I still know it now; we are forever. H
