North of Somewhere: All Grown Up – (Chapter: Ready Or Not…)

    “Spencer…fuck…yeah…right…yeah, right there. Don’t move.”

    “Right here?”

“Yeah, that’s so perfect. This picture is going to be amazing,” Ashley said, clicking away on her digital camera as Spencer stood in front of a large monument, shielding her eyes from the sun.

The last couple of days had been perfect. They spent long, lazy days walking the beach hand in hand and nights that were blurred with mere memories of fingers traveling where they were wanted most. Ashley made love to Spencer in a way she never had before. There was a confidence, a security that crept inside her as they touched that she had their history had not provided. Allowing herself to physically be with Spencer in the past had meant risking that it might be the last time or that it was a mistake—a catalyst for pain. But now there was a ring and a promise of commitment that Ashley trusted. She trusted Spencer.

“Ash, I’m starving. Let’s go get lunch.”

    “Just one more, ok?”

“Fine, but hurry,” Spencer replied, her hunger making her impatient.

Ashley took one more picture before putting her camera away, satisfied with her last shot, “Where do you want to go?”

    “Anywhere.”

“Oh…perfect,” Ashley said sarcastically, smiling as Spencer frowned, “you’re not a lot of fun when you’re hungry, Spence.”

“No, I was hungry two hours ago, now I’m completely and utterly starving.”

They found a quiet café, slipping inside and securing a table before the rush of tourists found it as well. Spencer watched Ashley intently as she took large gulps from her glass of water, finding everything about her to be amazing. It had been this way ever since the wedding. It was as though every step Ashley took, the way she looked when she thought no one was watching, and even the way she held her hairbrush made Spencer crazy with admiration.

“Why are you staring at me?”

“What? I’m not staring at you,” Spencer said, innocently.

    “You so were.”

“I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

“Sure…” Ashley replied, a signature smirk on her face as she glanced at the menu.

    “I can’t help it.”

“See? I knew it…where is the fucking waitress? We’ve been waiting forever.”

Ashley tapped the corner of the laminated menu on the table impatiently. The only thing in life she was used to waiting for was the staring blonde.

    1. That was such a low blow for Spencer to threaten to end the relationship if Ash concede to having a baby right away. Thankfully Arthur made things okay again when Ashley talked to him. Of course, now you leave us with a huge cliffhanger. Who’s on the phone? I’m really gonna miss this story when it’s over but I can’t wait to see what you come up with next.

    2. Did you have to write so much drama on their honeymoon? Of course, you did, you’re a writer! LOL! Ashley can be a pain in the ass…she didn’t have to snap so harshly when Spencer mentioned children and according to her response she definitely isn’t ready for children because she herself still acts like a child, they both do. You’re a magnificently talented writer and I’m in agreement with yahtzeeguru, you should do a sequel with them starting a family or after they already have children. Amazing story and I love it! PMS

    3. noooooooooooooo why must you end it why *flails around like an idiot.* no no no. you had better start a new fic after or else I will call Paris, Lindsey and brittney to come get drunk and lick your face oh yeah im crazy and i got them on speed dial.

    4. so i’m not gonna lie, i’m pretty damn sad that there is only one more chapter left of this incredible story! but i’ll be happy if you start another one, you’re such an awesome writer, you’re style is amazing!

    5. I can’t believe your going to end one of my fav stories. sad times. I don’t see how you can end this story like that. please don’t end it on a cliff hanger. this story has sooooooo many different possibilities for it still.

    6. i agree with dallas1111…they are both still so immature and new to this marriage thing…they should wait to bring a child into it…if they are not ready…this child could make more of a strain…so..kudos to ashley for wanting to wait..and to arthur who thankfully, straightened out the problem…..now, who could be on the phone….i wonder…Awesome post..can’t wait to read more..pms
