North of Somewhere (A Story) – (Chapter: Songs, Praise, and Old Spice…)
After a few moments, the girls’ breathing had calmed, but their bodies were still bonded together in the original position.
Once again, it was Ashley who broke the silence, “You know, I’m not going to lie, I could stay like this all night. But I think maybe we should move or I’m going to start coming again.”
“Is that supposed to be inspiration to move, because that’s not gonna do it,” Spencer laughed.
“You’ve gotta be tired,” Ashley said, softly.
“You know, I am a little tired actually. It couldn’t hurt to rest for a few hours…as long as you promise that when we wake up, you’ll make me breakfast,” Spencer said, extending her hand as if making a deal.
“Hey, if you want to risk your life, I’m not going to stop you,” Ashley said, shaking the extended hand…still slightly wet from being inside her. Just the thought gave her chills.
“Cool, then sleep it is,” Spencer said as she reached to grab the pillow Ashley had previously tossed to the floor.
It didn’t take long for Spencer to fall asleep. Ashley, however, couldn’t control her mind from recounting the events of the night. She couldn’t believe that after wanting Spencer for so long, here she was right in her bed. It should’ve been comforting, but for Ashley, it wasn’t. She was highly aware that a person who was in your bed one night could be out of your life another. Though she doubted it would be this way with Spencer, a girl could never be completely sure. If she could’ve stopped time and re-lived the night again and again, she would have…her fingers inside of Spencer, warm and wet…the feel of her hands on Spencer’s back as the girl pressed into her in a way that was just so Spencer, gentle yet somehow firm too…
“I wonder what she’d think if…” Ashley began to think to herself, but sleep interrupted her thoughts—at least for the moment.

Spencer awoke before Ashley, a smile gracing her lips as she felt the sun against her face. Last night had been…amazing. Ashley had been gentle and loving and concerned, just the way Spencer imagined she’d be all the time if she didn’t have years of walls built up around her.
She ran her fingers over her girlfriend’s face, committing to memory the texture of soft skin under her touch.
“Hey…” Ashley mumbled as she began to stir.
“Don’t think for a second that I forgot about breakfast, Ms. Davies,” Spencer said, planting a kiss on Ashley’s cheek as the girl’s eyes fluttered open.
“Great,” Ashley said, rubbing her eyes and opening them to a cheerful-looking Spencer.
“I’m getting in the shower…I’m wearing your clothes…I’m using your brush…your Old Spice body wash you love so much? Guess what, Ash, it’s all mine now!” Spencer sang as she made her way to the bathroom, “and just so you know, I’m locking this door. No sex before my awesome breakfast. Get to work!”
Ashley sat up and shook her head, anxious to see the world after a night like the one she had just had with Spencer Carlin.
