Ashley: Hey Spence, this is Gwen.

Spencer: (turns around and smiles, wow.)Hi.

Gwen: Wow. Ashley. She’s beautiful. Spencer, its so great to meet you.

(Spencer is blushing, and I smile because she looks so happy)

Spencer: I’m glad to! I hope you like brownies…

Gwen: And she brought brownies, (turns to me then back to Spencer)…Can I adopt you?

(Spencer tilts her head in confusion and looks at me, half smiling then giggles)

Ashley: Thats Gwen’s lame attempt at humor, its also how you can tell she likes you. She wants you to like her back thats why she makes lame jokes. 

Gwen: Excuse me!

Spencer: I thought it was funny…

Gwen: Thank you Spencer!

(We ate pizza, and talked. Gwen asked her about her family and how she moved here. She liked her, and I am so glad they were getting along well. I knew they would though)

Gwen: Oh my Spencer, you should have seen Ash as a kid, she was hilarious. Once she jumped off our couch and hit the footstool with her forehead, priceless. Also, She was fascinated with cowboys. She wore this black cowboy hat around for a month straight. You wouldn’t think it by looking at her, (here we go…southern accent coming up) But Darlin’ this one here was a little buckaroo in her hay day!

Ashley: Ok. I think thats enough for sharing time tonight kids, Ashley is tired of hearing how embarrassing and lame her childhood was….

Spencer: (still laughing so hard she’s crying) Aww Ash! I love it, its so cute. Its helping me find out who you really are…..buckaroo.

Ashley: Nice. 

I sit and watch them laugh. Spencer gets up from the table and dishes out the brownies. They are delicious! This night couldn’t get any better, I feel so happy, happier than I’ve been in so long. It only makes it better that my sister is here. After the brownies we crash on the couch and watch some tv. Its 9:30 and Spence has a Sunday night curfew at 10. I know what that means. 

Spencer: I had so much fun. It was great meeting you Gwen, loved hearing about lil Ashley Davies.

Gwen: Come here! (She grabs her and gives her a tight hug)

Ashley: Ok ok. Don’t hurt the girl, she’s fragile. (I smile at her and wink)

Gwen: I’m goin to get ready for bed. Night Spencer…Hope to see you soon! (She runs off into her room and shuts the door)

Ashley: She loves you.(Spencer rolls her eyes and smiles)…Seriously. She does. 

Spencer: I’m glad, but She’s not the one I’m concerned about. (She gives me the cheesiest smile ever)

Ashley: Wow. Nerd. (Smile back) You are so cute, it should be a crime?(I start leaning in for my goodnight kiss..)

Spencer:(looks at her phone) Oh I have to go! Its 9:45!! I’ll call/ text you. Night Ash! 

Ashley: Hey! Wait! That’s it? Nothing?

She runs back from the hallway and gives me a hard kiss. Then smiles and runs off.)

Ashley:(yell out through the hall) THATS BETTER CARLIN! YOU STILL OWE ME!

Spencer: BYE BUCKAROO!

I roll my eyes and close the door. I turn around.

Ashley: What the hell?!?! 

(Gwen is standing right behind me.)

Ashley: Ok, creeper. Thanks for scaring the crap out of me!

Gwen: I like her. She’s not afraid to make fun of you…in other words, She’s not a kiss-ass like the others.

Ashley: Oh here we go.

Gwen: This is the kind of person you should have found a very very long time ago. She’s smart and funny. She’s cute and perfect for you. DONT SCREW IT UP!

Ashley: Wow, thanks for the vote of confidence, I’m glad my sister has faith in my relationship skills…(She gives me a look) Ok..so my skills aren’t that great. But you can tell she makes them better!

Gwen: Yes, she does. She’s great and I love you. I can tell she makes you happy. But you are still on edge. I can tell. Don’t have doubts, don’t over-think things. Just take it for what it is…Spencer is great and you are too. You do deserve her Ash, despite what you may think. You are a good person. 

Ashley: Thanks sis. I’m so beat, can we continue this when my eyes aren’t jamming shut every time I try to blink?

Gwen: Yes. Tomorrow. After school, Shopping. Love you babe.

Ashley: Love you too darling. Night.
