Ashley carried Spencer’s body out of the waiting room and her classmates were giving her weird looks.  The classmates were whispering to one another.  She saw Melody and gave her a baleful look.  “Drop dead,” Ashley began with detestation.  “It’s not that damn hard to do!”

“I’m sorry, Ashley,” Melody began annoyed.  “Is that what you need to hear?  Is that what would make things better?  Tell me what I have to do!”

“No, you’re not,” spat Ashley.  “No you’re not sorry!  Sorry won’t help Spencer wake up right now!  Sorry can’t save my girl so save it!”  Ashley stormed off and Melody followed Ashley.

“I thought you would love me if I took Spencer’s life,” Melody admitted.  “But it didn’t turn out in my favor.  It only made you hate me.”

“How could you possibly think that?” asked Ashley in disbelief.  “How could taking someone else’s life let alone the love of my life’s life away make anything any better?  Have you completely lost your marbles?!  The answer is it doesn’t!  For the record, I don’t love you.  I never did!”

“I did that for you,” Melody explained. “For you, Ashley!  So you wouldn’t have to feel guilty over leaving Spencer and coming back to me.”

“Do you want to do something for me?” began an angry Ashley.

“What?” Melody asked hesitantly.  “Anything, Ashley.”

“Use that knife to stab yourself in the heart five thousand times so you could feel the exact pain you caused me right now by hurting my Spencer,” answered Ashley with hatred.  “Do that to yourself and then we’ll talk!” 

“You don’t mean that?” Melody questioned dejected.  “You don’t!  I understand that you’re upset, but you really don’t want me to kill myself, do you?!”

“Yes, I do,” responded Ashley bitterly.  “Understand!  You don’t understand at all!  Do you have any idea how I feel?!  You don’t!  You can’t!  You already did a spectacular job of killing me already, Melody.”  Ashley walked away.  Melody began to shake and pulled out her knife.

“Your wish is my command,” Melody explained sadly. Melody stabbed herself and fell to the ground.

A few minutes later, Ashley was waiting for the ambulance to arrive.  She was still carrying Spencer.  “The ambulance should be here any minute, babe,” Ashley began in tears.  “I’m right here.  I h-hope they will be here really soon because I c-can’t lose you.  You are part of the equation.”  Ashley noticed that there weren’t any ambulance cars around and didn’t hear the sound of the sirens.  “Damn, where the hell is the ambulance already?!  T-this is beyond an emergency!”  Ashley attempted to call 911 yet again however it was busy this time.  “It can’t end this way.  I need you more than I needed anyone else before.  Y-you can’t die.  We just got together.  W-we just found one another!  I need more time with you I need a lot of more time with you.  If possible I need forever.  I p-promised to always take care of you and to always be there for you and I f-failed you.”  Ashley broke down in even more tears.  The ambulance finally arrived and Ashley let out a sigh of relief.
