    Mario’s – (Chapter: Sunday)

It’s Sunday and we’re in Spencer’s bedroom waiting for her dad to call us down for dinner. When I got here her dad had answered the door with a welcoming smile on his face, that made some of my nervousness go away. He invites me in and we chatted for a minute before Spencer dragged me away to her room. Since we been in her room she’s been quiet and weird acting, I can tell something bothering her. Every time I ask what it is, she goes to a different subject like usual. Now we’re just sitting her talking about anything and everything that’s not what’s bothering her.

“I should have now you would have a pink room.” I said as picked up a picture of her and her mom off of her dresser.

“Shut up! Not everything is pink.” I put the picture down in go sit next to Spencer on her bed.

“What ever you say, so… your dad seems nice.” I say remembering his greeting at the door.

“I told you he was.” She said kissing me on the cheek. “So now that you met my dad are you more comfortable with eating dinner with my family?”

“I still haven’t met your brother and I have a question.” I tell her. She smiles at and gives me a little peck on the lips.

“Ash, you can ask me anything.”

“Okay, should I tell them that I’m gay if the subject comes up? I mean if you don’t want me to then I want.” I say look her right in the eyes.

“Of course you can, I don’t want you to pretend to be something your not.”

“I have another question.” She says ok, I take a breath before asking. “Why haven’t you told you parents you’re gay? I mean, you say I can tell them I’m gay like they will simply accept that. And if that’s the case then why can’t you do the same?”I stop and bring her face back to look at me after she looked away. “Look I’m not asking because I want you to tell them right now or anything, I just want to now why you haven’t already. Do you think your parents will like disown you or something?” I stop to her the answers to the questions I’ve been wanting to now for some time now.

“I don’t know it’s just hard. Yes my parents will be okay with you being gay. They actual have a couple of gay friends, but that doesn’t mean they want a gay daughter. Having gay friends is different then having a gay child, at least that’s how they might see it. It’s a big step, one I do want to take but I’m just not ready yet to see how they will react…” She looks away from me and starts to play with the end of her shirt.

“Hey,” I say taking her hands away from her shirt and kissing the back of her left hand. “It’s okay. I told you I’ll be here for you, when I ever your ready I’m ready, k?” She just nods her head and I give her a kiss then we here a knock at the door and break apart. Her mom walks in smiling at us.

“The guys should be here in a minute and the foods almost done.” She says still smiling.

“The guys?” Spencer asked I guess not knowing who her mom was referring to.

“Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you Glen said he was going to play basketball with Aiden, so I told him to invite Aiden to dinner.” Spencer looks like she is about to pass out while her moms talking. “I thought it would be a guy way for your boyfriend and best friend to meet.” What! Boyfriend?

“Boyfriend?” I choked out looking at Spencer. Her mom looks away from me to Spencer.

“I can’t believe you haven’t told Ashley about Aiden.” She looks back at me. “Spencer and Aiden have been dating for like a month now. He’s a nice boy, you’ll like him. But look girl’s I think I’m going to go check on how dinner is coming along, I’ll see you girls in awhile.” Her mom leaves and shuts the door behind her. I look at Spencer, she haves her head in her hands.

    “So you have a boyfriend?”
