I smiled at how she sounded so innocently curious yet annoyed at how casual I was being as I focused on not reading her thoughts. I wanted to se the reaction normally.

“I can show you better than I can tell you”

“Okay…show me”

“Close your eyes”

When Ashley knew that the blonde’s eyes were closed she began to focus, easily making the dry erase board in the corner of the room float over and in front of the girl in her arms. She popped the cap of a bright red marker.

“Open ‘em”

When the eyes were opened yet again Ashley thought of the message she hoped she could always relay to Spencer and, to Spencer’s amazement, the words in her head began to be transcribed onto the white surface. A moment later she whispered her response.

“I love you too”

“Wait…your not freaked…or…or anything?”

One distressing minute later Spencer broke the silence after turning to face the brunette with a face of shock, interest, and relief.

‘wait…why would she be relived?’

“That is so freaking cool…is that why you’re not scared?…‘cuz you can be there to protect us?…what else can you do?….how’d you get your powers?”

“Yes….wait a sec….what do you mean by ‘your’ ’powers?”

“Um…well…you see…what had happened was…uh”

“Spence…I just told you the biggest thing…..like ever. What ever it is you can trust me”

She took a deep breath before responding.

“Take off the bracelet”

Ashley gave her a questioning smirk before shrugging and removing it. Her brows furrowed when Spencer turned her wrist so the inside was upward and faced her and she traced the vaguely familiar letters tattooed to the pale skin.

“What?”

“I’m the leader….I joined when we came to L.A.”

At that moment Kyla burst into the room affectively ending the inquisition.

"Come on you guys, we have to leave in like twenty and your not even dressed Ash"

Spencer kissed the frustrated brunette on the forehead before whispering sweetly in her ear.

"We can finish this after. Just know I love you"

Sighing in defeat, she glared at her sister before responding with a heartfelt,
