I Didn’t Mean To Fall I Love With You, It Just…Kind Of Happened – (Chapter: Always Expect The Unexpected)

A few days later, Spencer was at Ashley’s house sitting in her living room cuddled up on the loveseat watching TV.

    Ashley: “So…summer break’s almost over.”

Spencer: “Yep.” The front door opened and they didn’t look up, thinking it was Kyla.

???: “Ashley! Come help me with these bags!” Ashley looked at Spencer then her eyes darted to the door.

Ashley: “Christine?!” she asked confused and surprised. Christine walked further in.

Christine: “Well it ain’t the pope.” Ashley and Spencer got up and helped Christine bring her bags in from the foyer.

Christine: “Who’s this.” she asked Ashley, pointing to Spencer like she was a diseased animal. Spencer looked at her with annoyance.

Ashley: “Please don’t do this.” she mumbled pleadingly.

Christine: “What! I just want to know who this one is, she doesn’t look trashy like all the others.” Spencer looked at Ashley confused. Ashley sighed heavily and ran her hands through her hair.

Spencer: “All the others?” she asked puzzled , yet disappointed

Ashley: “Spencer, this is the woman who gave birth to me, Christine, this is Spencer, my girlfriend.” Spencer just stuck her hand out waiting for Christine to shake it, but Christine just stepped back and gave a forced smile. Spencer dropped her hand, scoffed and rolled her eyes. Then a tall Italian guy with silky black hair in a ponytail, a leather jacket, sunglasses and blue jeans walked through the door.

Ashley: “And who is this?” she asked bitterly, Christine sighed

Christine: “This is Emilio, he’s Italian.” she yipped.

Emilio: “Il Christine il mio amore, ci dobbiamo si affrettare se siamo lo fare alle nostre prenotazioni di cena .” he gave her a peck on the cheek. Everyone looked at him clueless.

Christine: “Did either of you two understand a word out of his mouth?” she looked at Ashley and Spencer confused.

Spencer: “Um, I think it was something about dinner reservations.” Ashley and Christine looked at her. “What? I took an Italian class in middle school.”

Christine: “What ever, ciao.” she walked out with Emilio and Spencer just stood and watched, in the doorway with Ashley.

Ashley: She sighed. “See why I didn’t want you to meet that woman.”

Spencer: “Ashley…what, exactly did she mean by, “all the others”?” Ashley became fidgety. “Ok…so, how many?” Ashley fidgeted even more when asked this.

Ashley: “You know, it really doesn’t matter.”

Spencer: “Are you gonna tell me?”

Ashley: “It’s in the past now and you’re the one I’m with.”

Spencer: “I think you should tell me.” she asked annoyed

Ashley: “You’re my present and future and that’s all that matters.”

Spencer: “Tell me now, or I’m walking out that door.”

Ashley’s thoughts: “Ultimatum, not good…ultimatums are never good. I was really hoping I’d never have to tell her. She’s gonna think less of me now, I just know it.”

Ashley: “Ok Spence…just remember, you did ask.” Spencer crossed her arms and nodded. Ashley sighed heavily and looked at her feet. “Fif-fifty eight .” she stuttered, then looked at Spencer, who looked down, shifting her weight to her other foot. “Are you…ok with this?”

Spencer: “Well I…I know you’ve been with other…people, but I wasn’t expecting the number to be so…vast.”

Ashley: “I’m sorry. It’s who I was and I can’t change the past. But I’m not like that now and you know it, I’m with you and only you. Please don’t let this ruin us.” She pleaded. Spencer sighed and nodded. Ashley playfully pouted and held her arms out for a hug. Spencer smiled and hugged her, she pulled back and looked into Ashley eyes and kissed her nose.
