I Could Never Forget About You – (Chapter: What happened?)

    “So, you two…”

“Don’t.” Ashley warns Aiden as we make our way to the arcade. I can’t stop smiling ever since we walked off the beach, it’s just been impossible.

“Oh c’mon, it’s been forever. What happened down there?” Aiden focuses on me, waiting for my answer.

“Ah see that, I can’t tell you.” I reply as Ashley turns to face me, showing off her nose crinkling smile.

“That is not fair, if it wasn’t for me you two wouldn’t even be her—“

“Aiden, stop.” Kyla stops him mid rant, laughing.

I’m sure Ashley knows exactly what he was about to say, and honestly he’s right. It’s just that neither of us really know what happened. It just kind of did.

And boy did it feel good.

“Alright well we’re here so…yeah, don’t bother us.” Ashley tells Aiden and Kyla, as she pulls me inside the arcade.

                    “I’m sorry abou—“

“Spence, shh there’s nothing to be sorry about.” Ashley cuts me off, squeezing my hand.

“You’re right.” I smile at her.

“Okay, so what are we doing?” She asks as she pulls me through the crowds. I give her a confused look, wondering what exactly she’s asking about. “Game wise.” She clarifies.

“Oh, um…I don’t care.” I reply, taking her lead this time.

“Okay, how about…” She lets go of my hand to completely focus on me, face to face. “…Basketball?” She continues.

I give her a weird look, knowing for a fact that she’s never played basketball. “Ashley, you don’t play basketball.” I remind her, with a smile still present.

“Ah, see? There’s a lot of things you’ve yet to find out.” A sneaky smirk makes its way onto her face.

“You play basketball?” I ask, shocked.

“No.” She simply shakes her head, before making her way to the basketball hoop. I smile at her retreating form before following close behind.

“I don’t get you sometimes.” I joke around taking my spot at the next basket.

“Yeah, I know. But you better get ready, because um…I’m about to kick your ass.” She says matter-of-factly.
