    Goodbye Isn't Always Forever… – (Chapter: Chapter 9)

    Spencer’s POV

After Ashley had surprised me at work that day, i went straight home. I was having fun hanging out with her until she brought up that whole marriage thing. I hated that. Why was she telling me all that stuff? Was shy trying to scare me out of getting married? I don’t know. All i know is that i saw all the pain in her eyes as she told me. It hurt me seeing her like that. That isn’t the Ashley Davies i remember. The Ashley i remember used to be cool, bold, cocky, and strong. It wasn’t very often when she let her demeanor falter. I wasn’t used to this Ashley. I miss the old one. The one i fell for. Thinking of her being sad, alone, and miserable makes my stomache hurt. I’d do anything to have her be HER again. Like the way she was at the restaurant when we all had dinner. She was all flirty and cocky. Those are only a few of her millions of great qualities she pocesses. The qualities that made me love her so much more as a person, friend, and lover. After the conversation, things just got awkward. I wasn’t ever sure of what i should have told her. So i just stared. Like an idiot. At loss for words. This is all the stuff i keep thinking about as i lie here in my bed.

    Jackie: "Penny for your thoughts?"

    Spencer: "What?" I ask.

Jackie: "Well, you just look…very…pensive…is something wrong? Did something happen?

Spencer: "No no…of course not. Why would you think that?

Jackie: "You look like you just lost someone."

    Spencer: "No…i’m just…thinking about the wedding…" I lie giving a fake smile.

Jackie: "Oh no…are you getting cold feet?" She asks worried. I’m silent for a moment. "Spencer?!"

Spencer: "No…no, of course not! Why would i have cold feet? I want to marry you more than anything." She looks at me skeptically.

Jackie: "Are you sure nothing is bothering you?" She asks again still not convinced.

Spencer: "Yea. Positive." I say giving her a peck on the lips.

Jackie: "Okay." She doesn’t push the subject any further. Thank goodness. "Well i’m going to go out this Saturday to look at more wedding stuff. Do you want to come this time?" Saturday i go with Ashley. Shoot!
