Good With You – (Chapter: Meeting)

The following Monday morning arrived more quickly than I had really hoped after a weekend of attending concerts and probably more drinks than I should have allowed myself.  I woke up at 7:30, living only a short few miles from the school in a house my father had rented for me.  Luckily between my house and the school there was a charming coffee shop which I stopped at on my way, grabbing two cups, one for me, one for Spencer..

I was a sight for sore eyes as I knocked on the door labeled “Graduate Assistants.”  Spencer greeted me with a smile.  She had obviously been awake longer than I had been and was dressed very professionally.  She had on glasses which she hadn’t worn to class which were very attractive on her.  “Please come in Ashley.  Thank you for being on time.”  She sat behind her desk and sat down and opened up a folder and scanned the page.  As she was about to speak I interrupted, “I got you a cup of coffee.  I didn’t know if you were like me…I’m unable to function until about 10 a.m. without it.”  She took the cup and thanked me.  “Now Ashley, have you gone over the assignment?”

    “Yes, I’ve read over it.”

“And I see that your product is a bicycle.  Have you given any thought as to what could make a bicycle less boring in an advertisement?”

I began blushing.  I had, but it surely would not be allowed to present in class.  I hesitated and then went ahead, “to be perfectly honest, I have, but it would be hard to make it…uhh…school appropriate.”

“Well, let’s hear it.”  She took off her glasses and gave me an honest smile.  Though she seemed reserved, I felt comfortable in her presence.  She was obviously nothing like me, especially on the surface.  Here she was in a black pencil skirt and white button down shirt and I was in a pair of tight jeans, and a black wifebeater under hot pink hoodie, not to mention my hair being thrown up carelessly in a ponytail where hers had seemingly taken hours to fix.  I hesitated to respond, not wanting to spoil my gravity towards the graduate assistant before me.  “Oh what the fuck” I thought.
