From Spangs to Spashley – (Chapter: Chapter Two)

Spencer was by her locker and Carmen walked towards her. “Hey,” Carmen said.

    “Hey,” said Spencer.

“Look about the other day, it had nothing to do with you, it’s just me,” Carmen explained. I was having a bad day.

“You’ve been having a lot of those lately,” noted Spencer with a sigh.

“I said that I was sorry,” Carmen retorted. What else do you want me to say to you, Spencer? That I love you and I’m nothing without you? Carmen scoffed at her own statement. “The truth is you’re nothing without me. You’re not that great of a catch. You’re not that pretty and not that smart. With that said, I have to make an appearance in biology. Will I see you later for lunch?”

“Yeah, you will,” said Spencer with a sigh. Carmen kissed Spencer on her cheek. “So you don’t notice anything different about me today, babe?”

“Uh not really,” Carmen replied while she was staring at Spencer’s chest. I know that I don’t smell that vanilla crap on you.

“No, but I did my hair,” stated Spencer simply. Carmen looked at Spencer and noticed her curled hair.

“Ugh, I hate your hair curly,” Carmen snarled. I like your hair better straight. I hate it curly. It’s really weird and disgusting this way. Carmen walked away.

“You have such a charming,” scoffed Ashley as she appeared. She would so get the girlfriend of the year award.

“That’s not funny, Ash,” Spencer responded.

“It is funny in a way,” stated Ashley. By the way, Spence, you look really beautiful today.

“Thank you,” Spencer said a little surprised. I don’t know when the last time that Carmen called me beautiful was. I don’t remember if she ever called me beautiful.

“Well, I’m calling you beautiful now,” replied Ashley with a smile. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Don’t let her put you down, Spence. I don’t get it. There are other girls out there who would do anything to be with you and you chose her. Why?

“She’s the one who kicked me out of the closet,” Spencer began. Carmen isn’t like she was now. She was sweet. I didn’t even consider being in a relationship with another girl before I met her.

“She doesn’t deserve you,” concluded Ashley.
