Forever Yours – (Chapter: Chapter 8: Take Me Back, Spencer)

‘… So, take me back, back to better days.  Cause this time between is wasting me away.  Take me back, when we weren’t afraid.  Cause this time between is wasting me away….”

Clink.  Clink.  Clink.  Spencer groaned loudly as the soft kerplinks on her window became more and more frequent.  She pulled the covers over her head, attempting to block the noise out.  Clink.  Clink.  Clink.  Spencer cursed under her breath as she tumbled out of bed and shuffled lazily over to her window.  “Will you just stop? Jesus.  It’s two in the morning,” Spencer whispered angrily.

“Spencer!!  Hi!” Ashley called, slightly too loud.  Spencer groaned again and rubbed her eyes.

    “What do you want, Ashley?”

“You’re talking to me! God, Spence.  I just wanted to see you.  I miss you so much.”

Spencer looked down at Ashley and shook her head.  “Well, you’ve see me.  Your cheap words won’t get you anywhere, Ashley.  Now goodbye.”

Spencer’s callous words stung and Ashley was taken aback.  “Wait wait! Spencer, wait!  I…” Ashley interjected, unsure of what to say after the blonde’s retort.  All she wanted was to hold Spencer in her arms again – to kiss the blonde’s lips and never stop loving her.  “I wanted to sing you something.  I wrote it for you.”

Spencer arched her eyebrows but remained silent.  “I’ll stay close to your hands, close to your legs.  Close to the way your body fits on the bed.  Close to your hips, close to your lips.  Close to the only one I can resist ,” Ashley sang softly, her voice trembling as tears began to fill her eyes, “Close to your laugh, close to your words, giving you everything I know you deserve.  Close to you, baby, close to your world, close to you.”

The blonde’s baby blue eyes also began to fill with tears but they were wiped brashly away.  She didn’t want Ashley to know that every night she cried over her.  She had built up a wall around her heart – closing the doors to Ashley’s affection.  Inside, Spencer knew that Ashley was the only one that could break that wall.  The incessant pull at her heart reminded her of the mistake that she had made three weeks ago.

“So?” Ashley asked as she came to the end of her song.

“So?” Spencer repeated, a tear trickling down her cheek.

    “What did you think?”

Spencer shrugged, her whole body trembling.  Spencer’s fingers ached to touch the brunette.  Her heart ached to feel Ashley’s love.  After a long silence, Spencer shook her head slowly.  "I just want you back, Spence.  That’s all I want.  Just to be with you and to love you," Ashley said, looking up at Spencer.

"I…" Spencer began.  She stopped as tears began to pour out of her eyes.  "I don’t know, Ash."

"I’ll be there.  Forever.  Whenever you want me.  Whenever you need me.  Whatever you want, I’ll give it to you.  Please, Spence.  Give me a chance."

Her begging is incessant.  When will she ever stop? Spencer thought.

And as if Ashley had read her mind, she replied, "I’ll stop pissing and moaning when you take me back.  When you break down the fucking wall that you’ve put up around your heart.  Please, Spencer."

Spencer looked down at Ashley again.  She’s so perfect, so gorgeous.  Why does life suck so much? she thought.  Spencer could see the pleading in Ashley’s eyes and it made her go weak at the knees.  All the pain that she was causing, all the tears she was making Ashley shed.  Finally, she let out a loud sigh and replied quietly, "I’m not ready, Ash.  You need to give me some time."

"It’s been three damn weeks, Spencer! How much longer do you want me to wait?"

"If you love me, you’ll wait.  Go back home, Ash.  I’ll see you in the morning," Spencer replied, deciding not to be harsh to the brunette for she had already caused enough grief.

    1. Great update. No caleb this. I must say I’m slightly disappointed because I like to see his new tactics for inference. But when he gets wacked I won’t be sad.
