Forever Yours – (Chapter: Chapter 2: Spencer's New Neighbors)
“Do I get know the name of this beautiful lady?” Ashley mimicked dramatically as she stood at the foot of Spencer’s bed. Spencer giggled wildly.
“Ash!! Was he cute?” Spencer asked through her laughter.
Ashley frowned and said, “Don’t think you’re going anywhere, missy! You’re Davies property.”
“Since when?” Spencer asked teasingly.
“Since, like, forever!” Ashley laughed as she sat next to the blonde. Spencer leaned over and placed a tender kiss upon her lover’s lips. A moan of pure pleasure escaped Ashley’s lips but was swallowed by the now deepening kiss. This moment of passion was interrupted by a brash knock at the door.
“Spence,” Paula said, “I want you to meet someone. They’re our new neighbors. Bring Ashley too.”
Spencer nodded and followed her mother, pulling the brunette along. In the air lingered many voices – mainly British. Ashley gasped as one registered as familiar. “Spence?” she whispered, “That boy, Caleb, is down there.”
Spencer shrugged and replied, “Are you sure? No, it can’t be. Ash, just chill.”
Ashley groaned as they reached the bottom of the stairs. Walking into the kitchen, they found four new faces seated at the table. “This is my daughter, Spencer,” Paula said as she pulled the blonde toward her. She looked over at Ashley hesitantly. “And this is her, um, good friend Ashley Davies.”
Ashley saw Caleb grin out of the corner of her eye. ‘Girlfriend,” Spencer corrected.
Paula looked over at the newcomers and said nervously, “Excuse us for a second. Arthur? Will you?”
Arthur nodded with a smile. Pulling her daughter into the living room, Paula shook her head and said, “Spencer Carlin! What do you think you’re doing?”
“I don’t care if the Greene’s know I’m gay. They’ll probably find out anyway.”
“I care!” Paula said, a little too loudly.
“Mom, look. I don’t care anymore. I’m gay and they’re going to find out anyhow. You can’t change that.” At that, Spencer walked back into the kitchen, took Ashley by the hand and said, “It was nice meeting you all. But, I’m terribly sorry to say that my girlfriend,” – she glanced over at her mother – “and I cannot stay.” Pulling Ashley to her feet, Spencer entangled her finger with the brunette’s and left.
The last thing they heard before leaving the house was Caleb Greene’s voice. “Bye Ashley Davies.”
