You can never be too sure of something, unless you know that you hold it firmly in your hand, and it’s super glued to stay until the end of time. Being over confident can result in the loss of anything, from loved ones to prized possesions. So be careful, because being cocky is setting yourself up for destruction. I learned that the hard way. 

As soon as my first half of the day was over, I sauntered over to the cafeteria, where I noticed Kyla, sitting with Aiden, Madison, and one kid that looked familiar, but I couldn’t quite place him.

Ashley: Hey party people, how’s it going?

Kyla: You seem to be in a better mood this morning, Ashley.

Aiden: Yeah Ash, what’s the occasion?

God, Aiden could be so annoying at times. But you gotta love the kid for trying to be ‘cool’.

Ashley: What? I can’t enjoy a day of school every now and then?

Madison: What’s her name?

Ashley: Way to be direct! And what are you talking about?

Madison: The only time YOU’RE in a good mood at school is when you meet someone who you think is totally irresistable and absolutely breath taking.

I didn’t know I was that easy to read. I should work on that… Should I tell them about Spencer or no…. I think i should, but not until I know what this new kids all about.

Ashley: Before I give you any names, who’s the new kid?

Aiden: This, is Glen Carlin. All-state basket–

Ashley: Did you say Carlin?

So THATS why he looks familiar. Looks exactly like Spencer. If I played for the other team, I would say he’s pretty cute…

Glen: Yes he did! Know the name cause one day I’ll be bathing in mula!

…. did i mention he was cocky?

Ashley: So you’re Spencer’s brother. Do you know where she is?

Glen: She’s over there, he said pointing. "Talking to some Carmen chick…"

I look over to see Spencer flirting with another girl. I dont know why, put a ping of jealousy came over me.

Why do i feel like I should be the one she’s flirting with? Why do I feel like kicking that Carmen girls ass right now?

If i didnt know any better myself, I would say that I kinda like this girl.

And by kinda, I mean a LOT.
