Ashley yawns as she rolls over in the arms of her wife of over a year.  She smiles as she watches her sleep peacefully in the early morning light.  She gently brushes a few blonde hairs from the angelic face next to her.  The woman stirs and opens her eyes only to be met with the deepest brown she’s ever seen.  Ashley leans over and places a soft kiss on Spencer’s nose, bringing a grin to both their faces.

“Morning” Ashley whispers.

“Morning” Spencer replies, bringing her hand up to caress Ashley’s tanned cheek.

“You know… I’ve actually been thinking about something for a while now, and I just want to… talk to you… about it….” Ashley rambled as she lowered her gaze to her fingers that were now traces circles on Spencer’s arm.

“Ash…. What’s the matter?” Spencer was starting to get worried, but she did her best to stay calm.

“Nothing… I just was kinda thinking… and wanted to know what you thought about it…” Ashley was still tip-toeing around the subject.

“Okay, seriously Ash… you’re worrying me… what’s up?” Spencer lightly took hold of Ashley’s hand and brought it to her lips, along with her gaze.

“Can we have a baby?” Fearful eyes bore into shocked blue, trying to read her reaction.  Moments passed while the blonde processed the question.  Sure they’ve been together for 4 years, one of those years being married… but were they really ready to bring a child into their lives?  A smile broke out on Spencer’s lips, which made Ashley sigh in relief.

“You’re serious?  You really want to have a baby?” 

“Yea… I mean… I’ve always wanted to have one, and I couldn’t imagine anyone else that I’d rather share a child with… So?”

“Wow… I mean… wow” Spencer couldn’t get passed the shock of hearing those words coming from her wife’s lips.  There was a time when it took her 6 months to get Ashley to commit to a relationship.  And it took her over 3 years to propose.  Could Ashley Davies, the wild and spontaneous brunette, who’s only been in a couple of serious relationships, REALLY be asking to have a baby?
