The brunette took a step. Tried it out, and sucked in a hissing breath through her teeth. “Fuck,” she repeated, a small tear burning its way down her cheek.

Small price to pay, she figured. She continued on her way, wincing every time she took a step on her left leg. It settled a little after a few steps, and she thanked the non-present stars. She’d stopped running, but she was still determined as hell. While she was running, she hadn’t paid attention to how far she had gotten. Ashley noticed that she gained some distance.

But the question still burned in her mind: how far had Spencer gotten?

Spence hates the dark…She must be scared out of her wits. Remembering that didn’t help Ashley feel much better.

In the distance, she saw a streetlight. It was shining brightly. Apparently only part of the surrounding area had no power. Well, at least she knew Spencer wasn’t running around in the dark, anymore. That eased her mind a little, but not much.

Her brow furrowed suddenly. What time was it? She’d lost track after their first movie. Late, she presumed. She quickly wrestled her phone from her pocket and flipped it open, droplets of rain dotting her screen, making it hard to read. 12:14am. Her eyes widened slightly then slit. She needed to find the blonde soon. The thought of her running around this late…or early made her uneasy. It was L.A. after all.

She limped around a corner and halted to a stop. “Spence…” she whispered. There she was. Just a little ways in front of her, and her heart soared. Then it quickly sank. Ashley noticed that Spencer was in such a hurry to leave that all she had on was the camisole she’d worn under her jacket.

The blonde’s arms were wrapped around herself. Most likely to keep her warm. The sight pained the brunette.

Ashley started walking forward, then stopped. What would she say? What could she say? She’d think of something…

She continued to walk forward. Spencer’s back was to her and the sound of the rain drowned out the brunette’s footsteps, so she couldn’t hear her coming.

“God, I miss you and your toes,” Ashley yelled making the blonde jump and spin around to look at her intruder, “but soon they will be in my bed!” the brunette finished.
