DAWN: The unauthorized new finale to the Twilight series

I sat down the glass beside the tub and rolled over on top of him. Our lips touched lightly.

“What did I do to deserve this?” I asked.

“My way of saying sorry,” He said, “For being so irritable.”

I kissed him again. He held me for a long time, and I almost fell asleep in the tub. Slowly, I got up, the suds all over me like a shroud.

    “This was wonderful.” I said.

Once I was dry and fully dressed, Edward dragged the tub over to the large window and poured out the water. He then covered the tub for future use. My lullaby still played, never getting old to me.

I approached him and took his hand in mine.

“May I have this dance?” I asked. He smiled and put me on his feet, to avoid tripping, and then we twirled around the room, our eyes meeting the whole time.

When my lullaby ended once again, I stepped down and curtsied playfully. “Thank you, kind sir.” I said. He bowed and then we laughed.

I fell back onto the bed, and soon he was next to me on my right side. The silk rubbed across my face as I turned to look at him, finding his eyes were already on me. Is this what eternity would consist of? If so then I wanted to be changed then and there. My hand barely moved over to touch his face, cold as snow.

“Edward,” I began, “Will this be eternity?”

“Absolutely.” He said. I smiled faintly and slowly moved in to kiss him gently.

But when our lips met, he held my face to his, kissing me for a much longer time than I expected.

When we finally parted, I remembered.

“I have to go take my pill.” I said.

    “Go ahead.”

I stood up and slowly left the room, afraid Edward would disappear if I went. I walked down the hallway to the bathroom.

Turning the lights on, I went to the mirror. My reflection gazed back at me, happy and in love. I went to the medicine cabinet at took out the bottle, one of the only objects in the cabinet, next to a toothbrush and a hairbrush.

I took out one pill and put it into my mouth. Then I leaned over and turned the faucet on, cupping some water into my mouth, and swallowed. I shut the bottle, and put it back in the cabinet.

Standing for a moment, I listened quietly, wandering if Edward was waiting for me right outside the door with another surprise, I opened it quickly, finding nothing. I laughed and shut the door again, trying to think of what I could do to top the bath he just gave.

I shut the mirror, and looked at my reflection.

    “Jane!”

I almost screamed. But her hand clamped over mine, and everything went black. Where was I going? I couldn’t hardly move. Or speak. But I knew that wherever I was going, I may not be coming back.
