I suddenly realized that with everything going on, I had forgotten to tell Carrie that I was alive and well. My parents didn’t even know who she was, so it was pretty safe to say that they hadn’t called her at all, and I knew I could completely rule out Ashley getting into contact with her. I remembered that I had no idea where my cell phone was, and since I didn’t know her number off the top of my head, I decided to just call my apartment and then leave a message if she wasn’t there.
“Hello, Carlin residence.”
“Carrie?”
“Spencer!? Holy SHIT! Are you alive? Do you even know how long I’ve been trying to get in touch with you?” Carrie exclaimed.
“Yeah, I’m sorry about that. It’s been a pretty hectic couple days. I’m fine though, just a bad concussion and a couple fractured ribs. I’m feeling pretty good.”
“That’s great! Well, not the concussion and ribs, but, you know what I mean.”
“Yeah. How’s Benny doing?”
“He’s fine. Definitely misses you, though. When are you coming back?”
“Probably the day after tomorrow. They want to keep me just in case, I guess,” I told her. “Oh, which reminds me… Ashley is going to be driving me home, so… if there’s anyway you could, I don’t know… find somewhere else to be… it’ll probably take us a day or 2 of driving to get there.”
“I’ll be gone, no worries. So Ashley is there now?” she asked.
“Yup. She came the night it happened.”
“Aww really? That’s so cute!” she commented. “Did you two work things out?”
“We did.”
“That’s great, so is everything back to normal?”
“Sort of… um, I’m actually… going to move back to L.A. soon.” I figured I’d drop the bomb now instead of later.
“Well it’s about damn time!” she said.
“What?”
“Spence, don’t get me wrong, you’re awesome and you’re such a good friend, but you should have left New York awhile ago. You belong in L.A., with Ashley.”
“Yeah, I guess I finally figured that out,” I said, managing a small laugh.
“It took you long enough!”
“I know, I know. But what are you gonna do? I mean… with Chris and everything?”
“Well, Chris and I are done. I’ve closed that chapter of my life. But I’m thinking of going back to Boston and getting my masters. I’ll probably have to live with my parents again, but whatever… it’ll only be temporary.”

Spencer thinks too much sometimes. She should just move in with her and not question it. She just had a life changing experience. Go for it Spencer no questions. Great update as always. Love your story…

Yeah, you updated! You totally put a wonderful cap on the end of my day. That’s saying alot since I just spent 3 hours in a managerial economics class. So thank you. Spencer and Ashley are so freaking cute together. Ashley being all insecure about Spencer moving and Spencer reassuring her, good stuff. I go back and forth on the moving in thing but I’m leaning more towards having her move in. They’ve spent too much time apart, why waste anymore? As for ending the story soon, I’ll miss it but I understand. A sequel would be awesome but a new story would be great too. You keep me entertained no matter what. So thanks.
