Spencer felt a tear fall from her eye. The car stopped on a curb and her eyes closed as she felt a familiar hand from her face, wiping the tear away.

“Spence” Ashley whispered. “What’s wrong, you can tell me. We can always talk.”

“It’s just Clay, I miss him so much Ash. I really do.”

“Come here.”The brunette said embracing the younger girl in a hug. “I know you do baby. I miss him too, everyone does. I’m here for you no matter what.”

“It’s just when school starts up in a couple of weeks everyone’s gunna be staring because I’m the girl who lost her brother. I can’t deal with that. I don’t know how the rest of the family tries to forget it. He was such a good guy, he didn’t deserve it.” Spencer was now sobbing into the crook o Ashley’s neck.

“Yeah let’s go”. Ashley restarted the car and drove silently home.

The two teenage girls were sitting on the couch as ‘A Walk to Remember’ came to an end, with and empty carton of Ben & Jerry’s on the table.
