(Ashley looks Spencer with tears rolling down her cheeks. Everyone in the parking lot is looking at the two of them.)

Ashley: I don’t understand. Why are you doing this, Spencer. You love me.

Spencer: I don’t love you, Ashley. I never have.

Ashley: Don’t say that Spencer. You do love me.

Spencer: I only told you that. How can anyone love you. You’re a whore. You don’t know how to love. Your love is the equivalent of fucking. You can’t love.

(Ashley looks at Spencer. She’s crying harder now. Sobs racking her body, as Kyla helps her to stand.)

Kyla: Spencer, what the fuck is your problem?

Spencer: She needed to her the truth. She deserves to know the truth.

(Ashley looks as if she is about to faint. Kyla is now supporting Ashley.)

Ashley: You don’t love me?

Spencer POV

God, baby I love you so much. Don’t listen to me. I am just scared. What am I doing? Look at her stupid. Look at how much you are hurting her. Just stop it. Take her in your arms, and tell her you love her and no one else. What are you doing? You’re not moving.)
 

(Spencer stand straight, and looks right into Ashley’s eyes.)

Spencer: No, I don’t. I never have. Never will. I could never love someone like you. EVER!

(With that Spencer turns and runs out of the parking lot. Glen and Madison are looking at Ashley now. Aiden is just staring there, and Clay and Chelsea just got there. They all watch as Ashley falls to the floor with Kyla holding onto her. Ashley is crying so hard, she is hyperventilating. Kyla tries to console her, but it‘s not working.)

Ashley: She doesn’t love me, Kyla. She doesn’t love me. Why? Why doesn’t anyone love me?

(Kyla rocks Ashley back and forth, holding onto her tightly. She kisses the top of Ashley’s head not knowing what to do, or even say to her sister. Instead, she just chooses to hold Ashley close.)

END OF FLASHBACK

I know. I know what you are all thinking. “Spencer you are a first class, grade a BITCH!” And I would agree with you, now. Than, I was doing what I thought was best. Granted, I didn’t go the right way about it, but I knew she had gotten the message. You see, I wanted her to hurt as much as I was hurting. I wanted her to feel what I was feeling. Stupid right? Of course, because the person I should have hurt was Aiden, not Ashley. She did nothing wrong. And yet, she was the one I hurt the most. I still can remember her face that night when I told her I hated her. God, I thought I was going to die right than and there. I promised her that I would never hurt her like everyone else in her life had, and I was the one person who hurt her the worse. I killed her. I killed her soul. I killed her entire reason for living. And I, Spencer Carlin, must live with that every day for the rest of my life.

If you think that was the end. You are surely mistaken. For you see, it would have been easy to stop there. But, I….I wasn’t done hurting her.
