Walking in silence, we found a quiet spot overlooking the ocean and she pulled me down to the sand. She still remained silent, gazing out to sea as we sat side by side. I knew it! She’s slipped up and slept with Spencer was my only coherent thought as I played with the sand beneath me. I couldn’t take anymore and was first to speak

‘You slept with her,’ I didn’t even bother to form a question. 

Her head shot round and she stared at me a moment before answering.

‘Not exactly.’ she held my gaze and blushed.

‘How can you not exactly sleep with someone?’ I cried out harshly. I didn’t understand and my heart was starting to break.

‘No! No sweetie I love you! I haven’t, I would never…’ she reassured me, leaving the sentence unfinished but rescuing my heart.

Taking my hand in hers she gently caressed my fingers.

‘Shit hun, I was convinced you’d got it on with Spencer,’ her frown didn’t increase my confidence as I explained my panic.
 
‘Not exactly.’ She blushed again. Addison didn’t blush, what the hell was going on here. She cleared her throat and began to speak.

‘I, uh.’ She tried again. ‘Spence and I were talking in her room,’ she smiled as she saw me frown. 

‘Just talking sweetie.’ A grin crossed her features. ‘Although I did get a good look while she changed. Well, down to the underwear,’ she raised her eyebrows suggestively.

‘Nice?’ I already knew the answer but it was polite to ask.

‘Very!’ she nodded, confirming my thoughts! I just grinned back knowingly. We were both weak where Spencer was concerned.

‘Now we’re on the subject…’ she trailed off, drawing patterns in the soft sand.

‘Yeah?’ I responded, still curious. Where was she going with this? I was still clueless.

‘I, uh. She asked me what had happened after she and I kissed.’ I must have shown my confusion. She tried to clarify.

‘What had happened between me and you.’ 

I wasn’t surprised Spencer had shown concern. Addy was her friend. Despite everything between them the friendship, and therefore Addison’s well being, came first.

‘What did you say her?’ I didn’t understand why Addy was in such a tizzy.
