Ashley looked away. Spencer didn’t need words. She grasped the brunettes chin and brought her face gently but firmly around until their gazes met.
“It’s ok Spencer.”
“No. No it isn’t.” Of all the things that had happened in the last fortnight. All the people she’d hurt, this was the one that she felt the most devastation about. God, how much had she led Ashley on? The girl had ended a relationship for her. Christ on a bicycle.
“Spence. I didn’t end it for you.” That got the blondes attention. “I ended it because of you, but not for you.”
“Oh.” Spencer wasn’t so sure that made it any better.
“I like you. I like you a lot. That was enough to tell me that Liv and I weren’t exactly meant to be. And she must have sensed something because she does not like you.” Ashley chuckled slightly at that thought. “And she was jealous. I realized that she had something to be jealous of. I didn’t do it in the expectation that something would happen between you and I. Liv and I were just seeing each other. You’re married!”
“Not so much” Spencer smiled slightly. “I’m still sorry.”
“What can you do?” Ashley shrugged. “Our timing sucks.”
“I know.”
“I’m not going anywhere you know.”
“Then why are you putting your shoes on?”
“Not now you goofball” Ashley nudged Spencer sideways and smiled that adorable smile. “I mean I’m not going to leave and not see you again. I’m sticking around.”
“Thank-you”, the indescribable feeling of relief shot through the blonde. “I think I can use all the friends I can get right now.”
“Well, at the risk of sounding like a bad song, you’ve got a friend in me.”
“You sound like a terrible song.” That earned her another nudge.
“I really do have to go though. I have an early appointment and have to go home to change.” Ashley finished tying up her shoes and stood up. Spencer stood with her and trailed the brunette to the door. “I’ll call you ok.” Spencer nodded. “And I want you to call me if you need me. For anything.” Another nod. Spencer felt choked up and didn’t want to attempt to speak. She let Ashley’s hug engulf her and buried her head in the girls shoulder momentarily, taking in the only comfort she could find at the moment. Then she was gone.

AWWWW! YAY! They arent together, but its pretty close knowing that ashley isnt going anywhere. And i liked how you put the bad song in there. “You’ve got a friend in me.” hahaahahahahaha… hahahaha… *cough cough* lol
Wow, I was so happy to hear that Ash isn’t going anywhere and that she is respecting Ashley’s need to be there for herself and her daughter first.

okay, I’ve stopped pouting and frowning now… I no longer resemble a cute puppy. Instead I have a hopeful smile that all will be okay… wish I had the same hope for the show itself, but never mind, that’s a whole different rant. Still loving it Clom, and stil think you should feel exceptionally guilty that you’re abandoning us! And for New South Wales?! The proper Wales that shares a border with Engalnd is bad enough, but NEW SOUTH Wales?! why?! why go somewhere names after such a place?! ;-)

My Gray is less obstinant, but we are seperating…and your last post with Spencer pushing Ashley away…that’s exactly what I have done. That went much better than I thought it would. I’m so Glad Ashley is sticking around for Spencer. It was sweet that she admitted to leaving Liv because of her feeling’s for Spencer. I hope Elly doesn’t act like a brat because her dad was a jerk. And Ashley likes her. pms

I really love how you’ve navigated your way through this storyline. I mean, it’s really different, Spence with a daughter and being married and everything. But you’ve really made it work. And what can I say? You’re such a great writer! You make us want to read more and more and more. I am always eagerly awaiting your posts, and yes, I do get a tad bummed when you I don’t see an update from you. And, not to quote McD’s or anything, but I’m loving it!
