    187 – (Chapter: House Party)

"You?" Nervously, the boy looks around. "Fuck this." Turning, he makes his way back down the alleyway to his car.

"Christ, I thought you were good for it." She yells to his fading figure. "Guess I’ll just have to let Aiden know you blew me off."

"Aiden? Fuck Aiden. He gives my number to some spoiled bitch who doesn’t even know how to use what she’s about to buy. You think I don’t know who you are? Your mom’s the district attorney and your dad works in homicide. Now why would I jeopardize my position to sell to you?”

The brunette flips her hair as a laugh escapes her. “If you don’t give me what I came for I’m gonna have words with-“

“What, you gonna tell Mr. Basketball star on me?”

“No, but I’m sure Ice isn’t gonna like it when she hears you blew me off.”

“I-ice?” He questions with a shaky voice.

Again, the brunette laughs. She couldn’t for the life of her understand how Ice had managed to stow this kind of fear into a grown man. After looking around once more the man takes a few steps towards her. “Lose my fucking number.” He says as he drops a baggie into her palm. Ashley slips the baggie into her pocket before throwing the money at his feet. The only thing she can do is laugh as she watches him scramble to pick up every last dollar.

Spencer watches from across the street as Ashley stumbles out of her car and into the house. Streams of envy shoot out as she watches the high school kids roam the property. She had never had the pleasure of attending a Friday night house party. But it was too late for that now. The blonde had come to the conclusion that she was far too old to still be blaming her mother for the past. It was time for her to stop dwelling on things that couldn’t be changed and to start living in the moment. No matter how much she fantasized about it her past wasn’t going to change. She accepted it and now it was time to set her plan in motion.

“911, how may I help you?”

Spencer clears her throat before speaking into the phone. “I’d like to report a disturbance…”

    ———–

“Don’t look at me like that Ashley. You brought this on yourself. If you hadn’t decided to throw that party you wouldn’t be in this situation. Your mother and I can’t keep pulling strings for you.” She scoffs as he takes hold of her arm and leads her down the hall.

They stop just outside the door. “I need you to talk to her Ashley. She’s good at what she does and she can help you if you let her.”

He pauses for a brief moment hoping for some sort of response. Upon realizing he’ll be receiving no such thing he turns to the door and knocks.

“Come in!” A voice shouts from the other side of the door.

“Hey, this is my daughter Ashley.” He says as the door swings open.

“Yes, of course. Come on in Ashley. Have a seat if you’d like.” The brunette brushes past the taller girl shooting her a death glare as she passes.

“Ashley, I want to introduce you to your new psychologist. Her name is Spencer. Spencer Carlin.”
