In The Black
“This is the drop off point. I’m heading West to East to clean up a little matter,” were the last words Agent Sandra McLane of the Secret Service heard the Lady In Black tell her before departing in her private jet. Somehow it was all tied in together. Somehow, she was going to meet up with someone out of the blue. Someone with information. The instructions were classic Lady In Black. The contact would be asking for the java special.
Ranger Dolores Nogales of the Texas Ranger Division was getting closer to the arranged meeting location. Remember to ask for the java special was her subconscious reminder. All of this has to be leading somewhere. This source better be as valuable as this “Lady In Black” claims.
The Wrath of Fang Gow
Betty Drake had been to outer space recently and met with a space alien. Lorraine Lewis had been to the depths of the Atlantic Ocean and discovered not only Atlantis, but its Queen. Now, here they were together as helpless pawns in someone’s sick game. Still bound, still gagged, but now able to see, the image presented to them does not make them feel any better. The walls are dark and what they see reminds them of some sort of dungeon. They hear an audience and a man making announcements in a language that is not American. One had been outside of Earth. The other had been to Atlantis. At this moment, neither knew where they were or if there were any chance for an escape.
Zira of Zetruria
[NOTE: Dialogue is translated from Oan for the Earth-English audience]
The planet is named Oa. It is, according to its inhabitants the center of the Universe. It is the home of the Green Lantern Power Battery and now Zira, feeling she has no home is allowed to make a choice. She has been deemed worthy of a ring, but which ring she decides is up to her. Each representative of their own power ring corps makes their pitch. The Queen of the ruins of planet Zetruria is being recruited. With other members of the Green Lantern Corps on hand to keep an eye on rival corpsmen, the pitches are made one at a time. The first is simple, effective and made clear where one being stands with the rest.
