    DCL 1 – Superwoman Confirmed

    Metropolis.

She stands on the sidewalk, holding a voice recorder close to her face, speaking into its microphone.  She is unconcerned with who notices as she narrates and speculates on what she and so many others in the city had just witnessed.

Lois “This is a day that I, and everyone in Metropolis…perhaps the entire world will remember forever.  The day ‘she’ arrived.  I do not know who she is.  I do not know where she came from.  I do not know how she is able to do what she does.  However, I will find out.  She came from nowhere, like a guardian angel.  No one noticed at first until someone in the crowd shouted, ‘Look!  Up in the sky!’  There were speculations of birds and planes, but she appeared human, yet something more.  She floated in the sky, clad in blue and red…a flowing red cape behind.  The girl she talked to looked despondent.  She looked helpless.  She looked lost.  She looked to this woman floating in the sky in front of her.  Emblazoned with some type of ‘S’ across her chest.  It must stand for ‘Super,’ as she certainly was that.

Until now, there were talks of her being an urban legend.  This…this Superwoman who would swoop in out of nowhere and save the day.  Today, her existence has been very well confirmed and all of humanity is on notice.  Today, she saved a life in front of the general public.  Today, she became willing to let her presence be known to the public to keep a young suicidal girl from ending her own life.  I can only imagine what was said to her.  I can only imagine the conversation they had.  I can only imagine how intimidating it must be to have an angel staring at you with no ground beneath her.  …I want to know what it is like.  I will know.”

Her name is Lois Lane and at this moment, she is being interrupted in her narration.  She is slightly taller, but appears clumsy with her pantsuit, disheveled hair and oversized glasses.  Her name is Clara and she appears lost, but in a sense that is different from the suicidal girl from earlier.

Clara “Oh.  Hey, Lois.  Um…what’s going on?”
