Carmen rest her head on the headboard of the bed and take a drink from her water bottle. Shane takes a deep breath and closes her eyes.

Carmen: babe talk to me (rubbing her shoulders)

Shane: where do we begin? Like if we

Carmen: (interrupting) when we

Shane: your right..when we find her how do we ask her to sign away her rights to shay. Do we just walk up and say “hey sign these papers we want your baby”

Carmen: babe, you have got to think positive, its going to happen. We just gotta think where to find her. Lets start from ground zero (grabbing her Macbook)

Carmen goes to her Facebook page and types in carla’s name in search.

Shane: um babe, Facebook? Seriously

Carmen: well yea, almost everybody has one

Shane: I don’t

Carmen: I know, babe, you need to keep up with the times

Shane rolls her eyes and waits to see if Carmen finds anything.

Carmen: ah ha!!

Shane jumps up and looks at the computer screen.

Shane: damn she looks bad

Carmen: I know, ill send her a  friend request

Shane: wait can u see her profile

Carmen: hold on lets see…..yea we can look….oh my god

Shane: wow

They see pictures of Carla shooting up.

Carmen: well asking her to sign over her rights just got easier.

Shane: well yes and no

Carmen: what do you mean?

Shane:  well we have got to be diplomatic in this, we don’t know what state of mind she’s in.

They continue talking until they hear a knock on the door.

Shane: come in

Shay comes into the room and sits on the foot of the bed

Shay: whats for dinner?

Carmen: good question, shane whats for dinner

Shane: I don’t cook, Carmen whats for dinner

Carmen: don’t feel like cooking, shay what you want to eat?

Shay: ummm five guys?

Carmen: works for me, what about you babe?

Shane: works for me, shay come ride with me, Carmen you keep working on that.

Shane and shay leave and Carmen sends Carla the friend request and a message

       Hi Carla, this is Carmen, we met before I married Gabe’s daughter shane. Well to make a long story short we (shane and myself) have custody of shane. We would like to adopt him. We need your consent and for you to sign him over. We have had him for a little over three months now and he’s a wonderful little boy, he’s excelling in school and is on the honor roll along with being on the basketball team.
