Bette was about to ring the door-bell again when the door flew open. She certainly wasn’t expecting Helena to answer the door. Even though Bette knew Helena was sleeping with her ex she had no idea the seriousness of the relationship. Bette was jealous of the brunette standing in front of her, but she had no intention of letting Helena see how she affected her.

Bette recovered and said to Angie with laughter in her voice. "Hey Angie," ruffling Angies hair playfully. "How come you never told me you guys had a house keeper?." Bette said loud enough for Helena to hear.

Helena looked at her with daggers in her eyes.

"Please, mom," Angie said laughing. "That’s Helena, mommy’s friend" and she ran in the house ahead of Bette. Shouting. "Hey mom,I’m home."

"Oops" Bette said ,stifling a giggle,"my bad" and she pushed past Helena into the house..

Helena closed the door and stepped back inside. no way was she leaving Tina now…not with her ex lurking around.

Bette heard the door clicked and turned around. "I thought you were leaving ,Helena?" Bette said . "Don’t you have somewhere to be? …someone to fire?….someone’s life to ruin?….some….

"What the hell are you doing here ,Bette?____checking up on your ex?" Helena rudely interrupted

"Actually", Bette smiled, refusing to let Helena get to her "Not that it’s any of your business but since you asked , I was actually on my way to the planet with my daughter when the news report stated that a female vampire fitting your description was seen in the vicinity……."

"You bitch!….." Helena raised her hand, but before it could land on it’s intended mark, Bette grabbed it.

She stepped closer to Helena menacingly and said. "Don’t you even dare think about it. …When you took over the CAC, Helena, I let you take control____but make no mistake" Bette said coldly ."Do not mistake that for me being weak, that was your turf… "You took over my job"….Bette moved in even closer…."And now, you may even think you have my family…."…My job I let you have Helena, but my family…. well….. Bette left it hanging out there…. I no longer need your mother’s money or backing …. Actually ,you firing me was a blessing….I’m doing well for myself…you are on my turf now and make no mistake Helena… you do not want to mess with me.______ Helena thought Bette was going to slap her, maybe Bette thought she would too. The air had gotten too hot, too tense. Then Bette’s gaze dropped. Her lips thinned. She drew back furiously. " I’ll crush you like the cockroach you are." Bette dropped her hand and sauntered into the kitchen________the direction that Angie seemed to have taken.

Helena was shocked, she had never seen this side of Bette Porter before. When she had fired Bette from the CAC, she hadn’t even put up a fight, and Helena had always thought her to be spineless and weak. She had always wondered, other than her beauty what had Tina seen in her? but today she saw Bette as the strong motivated woman her mother was always boasting about. When pushed, Bette Porter did not roll over and play dead, as she had assumed. When it came to her family Bette Porter was fierce. "Tina is not your family" Helena said. But she was talking to the empty room.
