Star Crossed Love
Dana Fairbanks was an up and coming tennis superstar, at her young age she was already thrust into the spotlight while trying to finish her education at Stanford. The day to day badgering of becoming pro and choosing sponsorships was just as much a part of her life now as was her morning training and daily diet. That did little to effect her social life from her closest friends, in which one of them, Tina Kennard had recently informed her that she and her partner of 2 years were finally going to get an apartment together.
Dana thought back to the conversation she had just minutes ago with her long time friend. "Tina. I’m just so tired of training all the time. I mean I know it’s what I want to do the rest of my life. But I’m 21 years old and never go out. I never go anywhere with my friends." She half heartedly whined, flopping down in the oversized recliner.
"What about when you went to the club with me and Bette last month"
The tennis player lifted her toned legs onto the coffee table and began unlacing her shoes, cradling the phone with her shoulder ”Well that’s you and Bette. I mean I never go out with anyone while I’m here. Because of my training. I haven’t been on a date in months nor have I even been graced with a drunken make out session.” kicking her shoes free from her feet
“Dana…my sweet, sweet Dana. How about this. You are going to be in LA anyway for Christmas because of you parents. We plan on moving in before New Years and are going to have an awesome party. Why don’t you come and stay with us for new years? You know, relax a little and unwind before all the crazy starts again?”
“I don’t know Tina….” she trailed off picking up the television remote and pressing the power button.
“If you think all you’re going to do is sit around and watch sportscenter with the occasional lifetime movie thrown in, you are sadly mistaken. You are coming to LA, so you might as well have some fun after being subjected to endless political debates that’s considered family time.”
