    Chapter 9

    At Bette and Tina

    Bette opened the door.

‘Hey it’s great to see you!’

‘Hi Bette. Thanks again for the invitation. I brought some wine…’

    ‘Thank you. Come in!’

As Carmen entered the room, Bette closed the door behind her and was met with an awkward silence. Shane was looking at Carmen without saying a word. Bette went over to Tina to observe the scene in front of them. After a few minutes Shane spoke first

    ‘Carmen…’ she whispered

    ‘Shane…’

Bette had to grin and thought it was a good idea to break the ice with a joke. She pointed at Tina and than at herself and said

‘Tina…Bette…great, introductions are made! So let’s sit down and enjoy…’

Before she was able to end the sentence she was cut off by Shane turning around leaving the house in a hurry. Tina tried to catch her arm but failed

    ‘Shane…wait!’

Shane stopped and turned around. She looked at Bette and Tina with sad eyes but anger audible in her voice.

‘I can’t believe you did this. You two didn’t accept my decision and interfered. I would’ve expected that from Alice but not you!’

With that she turned around again and walked home. Tina turned back around to face Bette.

    ‘Go after her!’

    ‘Me? Why?’

‘Because maybe she will talk to you!’

‘Oh great…that’s love…send me to get killed’ Bette mumbled when she walked to the patio doors.

‘Wait…let me go. I will talk to her.’ Carmen said and passed Bette. Before she left she turned around and said

‘And don’t think you two are off the hook.’

She left with only one thought: This is my chance. I have to show Shane, that we are meant to be together…I know that she is the one for me!

    At Alice’s

’Hey…which movie do you want to see?’

    ‘Something romantic’

‘Oh Dane…I’d rather see something funny…’

    ‘What about a romantic comedy?’

Alice leaned over, kissed Dana and said

‘You are not only beautiful but super-smart! I made a good catch…’

‘You are not so bad yourself’

    ‘Oh yeah?’

    ‘Yeah’

They kissed until Alice was on top of Dana and started unbuttoning her blouse. When she opened the last button and let her hand move over Danas toned stomach, Dana opened her eyes, pulled away and said

    ‘I thought we go slow!?’

    ‘We go slow’

    ‘That is slow for you?’

    ‘Yeah’

    ‘Then what is fast?’

‘If I would’ve intended to go fast I would’ve ripped your blouse, unbuttoned your pants in no time and you would scream my name by now!’

‘Sounds kind of tempting! Except the ripping because this blouse was very expensive and…’

    ‘Don’t talk just kiss!’

They kissed for a few hours and explored their bodys but didn’t sleep with one another. They took it slow after all….ok…Dana took it slow…Alice would’ve gone for it within a nano-second!

    At Bette and Tina

‘Do you think we made a mistake?’

    ‘We? That was your idea!’

‘Maybe my idea but you supported that whole plan!’

‘Well maybe Carmen can talk to Shane and show her, that it was the wrong dicision to break up. They are such a cute couple and complement one another. I hope they sort this out!’

    ‘Me too…lets eat!’

‘How can you eat after such a disaster?’

‘I’m hungry and the food is getting cold…’

    ‘You, Bette Porter, are unbelievable!’

‘I know….I know!’ Bette smiled whimsically.

At the same time at Shane’s

Shane didn’t hear the knock at the door when she laid in her bed and stared at the ceilling. She thought about Bette and Tina’s betrayal, Carmen, their breakup and so many other things. But there were questions she asked herself over and over again: Did Carmen know, that she would be there? Was Carmen there to get her back? Was it a mistake to break up with her?

She was so deep in thought, that she didn’t even hear her bedroom door opened. She only realized that she wasn’t alone anymore when Carmen coughed.

    ‘h-hm…Shane…Can we talk?’

    1. OoOo can’t wait for the next chapter! The last part with Shane laying there with so many thoughts in her head. Very accurate as with life when one is alone with their thoughts. Good stuff, thanks Jay!
