Reckless Driving and Long Term Friendships- (FEB FF CHALLENGE)
Alice whipped the Celica in and out of traffic. She was hell bent and determined not to miss this meeting. It was her big chance, her break, she was finally up for promotion and now she was facing rush hour morning traffic in L.A. with 15 minutes to spare before all her hopes, dreams, and ambitions came tumbling down around her. Then the opportunity presented itself. Alice spotted an opening in traffic and an empty exit ramp that would cut at least 5 minutes off her trip. She just had to haul ass over.
Bette was cautiously making her way through traffic towards her exit, silently cursing under her teeth and waving empathically towards the other drivers that were being cut off by her. She slowed the car as she approached her ramp and saw that it wasn’t blocked and didn’t have traffic stopped in it. Little did she know that some raging lunatic had the same idea as she did until it was too late. A small blue Toyota power braked in front of her, sliding into position and zooming straight for her exit, her ramp, and her way to work. No way in hell was some ignorant driver going to wreck and make her later than she already was.
Alice let out a scream, ‘Fucking motherfucker!’ as her car slid across the freeway, grabbing traction and pointing straight down the exit. Then she yelled, ‘Wow! That was pretty fucking awesome!’ easing her grip on the steering wheel and pressing the accelerator, looking into the rear view mirror only to see some pissed off, incredibly sexy woman riding her bumper.
Thinking of this as a drag race, Alice taunted, ‘Think you can keep up with me? Huh, bitch!?’
Alice punched the clutch to the floor and grabbed fifth gear, grinding the tach needle into the red zone. Alice turned on her radio and heard the right song for this kind of shit: ‘Ghost Riders In The Sky’ by Spiderbait. Alice chimed in ‘Let’s dance.’ A car in the red was bad enough, But with a maniac behind the wheel, it was pure insanity.
‘Oh, you think you can get away from me?!’ Bette screamed as she kept the Volvo in close proximity to the small car.
Both cars were flying recklessly down the ramp, bouncing out of control sending the shocks into a fury. Alice and Bette were trying to keep the cars stabilized while they continued their descent. The rev limiters starting to cut out as both cars stirred up a dust storm, while they played cat and mouse. They both managed to do some skillful braking and downshifting when they finally reached the bottom. They didn’t lose too much speed before Alice finally hit the E-Brake and cut a hard left, sending the car sliding off the ramp into the turning lane. Bette was still close behind jerking the car back to the left to straighten it and followed the blue Celica.

Officer Mulligan joined the pursuit with Captain Bragg in regards to a dispatch for two speeding cars near there location. A woman had called in reporting two speeding cars driving recklessly on the interstate, weaving in and out of traffic.
The dispatcher called out of the radio "They are headed…."
"No need, i’ve already spotted them!" Officer Mulligan responded as he flipped his lights and sirens on, filing in behind the silver volvo as Captain Bragg and his cruiser pulled in front and positioned the car behind the blue Celica.
Bette looked into her rear view mirror when she saw the reflection of the lights “SHIT!” she screamed as she began slowing down and pulling over.
Alice did much of the same but with quite a bit of hysteria “FUCK, FUCK, SHIT, HELL!” banging her fists on the steering wheel as she downshifted to bring the car to a rolling stop on the side of the street.
Captain Bragg stayed in his cruiser and called in the tags, before exiting the car, placing his hat on his head, and walking up to Alice’s window. He removed his sunglasses while he watched Alice roll the window down.
**********************************
Bette watched the scene in front of her until she was brought to reality by a pecking on her window. “How are you today Officer?” forcing a fake smile on her face
Officer Mulligan kept his hardened expression on his face when he spoke “Much better now that you two are stopped. So might I ask, what the big hurry was while you let me see your license and registration.”
*************************************
Captain Bragg stepped back from the door “Ma’am, I’m going to have to ask you to step out of the vehicle.”
“What! WHY?!” Alice began to panic
“Ma’am, please exit the vehicle.” Repeating himself more stern
Alice grabbed the door handle and forced it open before standing face to fac..well more like face to chest with Captain Bragg.
“Turn around and place your hands on top of the car.”
