    Angelica gets the “family time” she’s asked for….

     

     

    “Carolyn, I really can’t talk right now,” Bette said to the stunning woman on the screen.

     

    “But I’m here darling!” Carolyn said plaintively, “I took the morning flight.”

     

    “It’s okay Bette,” said Tina, “take your call.  Angelica and I are out the door anyway.”

     

    “No, wait,” ordered Bette, while holding up one finger and stepping outside to finish her call.

     

    Tina glanced at Bette through the patio door and couldn’t help but think how good her ex looked.  She had always loved Bette’s Saturday morning look—it was such a welcome difference from her weekday uniform of power suits and high heels.  Today she was wearing a simple pair of cotton pants lightly hugging her hips, and a sleeveless white tank top with a built-in shelf bra.  Her hair was loose and long, reaching past her shoulders in a wild, wavy mass.  “Damn good,” Tina thought to herself.

     

    “Mom are you going to take this,” said Angelica, “or are you going to just stand there with that goofy look on your face?”  Her lovely daughter was holding her heavy backpack in one hand and her suitcase in the other, clearly struggling.

     

    “Sorry sweetie,” Tina said, assisting her daughter with her luggage. 

     

    “So aren’t you curious?” asked Angelica.

     

    “About what?” Tina replied.

     

    “Come on Mom!” the girl sighed in exasperation.  “You’ve got to be curious about who Mama is talking with.”

     

    “No, not really.  It’s none of my business.”

     

    “Well her name is Carolyn.  I’ve never met her, but I’ve seen her on Mama’s screen.  She’s pretty,” she glanced at her mother quickly, “but not as pretty as you.”

     

    “You’re my biggest fan baby,” smiled Tina, giving Angelica a hug as they moved her belongings to the door.  “Go check your room again and make sure you haven’t left anything that you can’t live without until next week.” 

     

    Bette had finished her call and walked back into the room.  “Sorry about that,” she waved at her iBerry dismissively.

     

    “Not a problem,” Tina said with a smile.

     

    “I think I’ve got everything,” called Angelica as she bounded into the room. 

     

    “So, Angie, your mom and I have chatted about your request for ‘family time’ each week and we think we’ve come up with something that will work,” announced Bette.

    9. Another great update but way too short but of course we all appreciate even updating at all given the circumstances with your family. I’m glad to hear things improving on that end and will wait patiently for more of this lovely story!!

    13. I am thinking nostalic also. Bette and Tina, Bette and Tina, Bette and Tina, that is my mantra. I hope that they find out why Angelica was crying out for her mothers and I also hope that Bette and Tina can reunite as a couple. Glad to hear that your father is doing better.
