Bette took one last look in on Angie to make sure she was still sleeping soundly. She backed out of the room silently and headed to the patio to check her messages.
Carolyn’s face appeared on her screen. “Hey gorgeous, sorry I missed you. I thought you said you’d be home by 7:00. Look, I’m coming into town this weekend for the seminar early next week. I didn’t think I was going to make it, but Damian thought it was important that Yale have a presence there, so voila!”
Bette put her head in her hands as she continued to listen.
“I would like to get that private tour of UC’s collection that you mentioned,” said Carolyn as she looked directly into the phonecam and slowly licked her lips.
Bette stared at the pretty blond woman on the screen. She hadn’t seen Carolyn in six weeks, the last time in San Antonio at the National Art Educator’s Conference. Bette was the keynote speaker and Carolyn was at her side for most of the 3-day NAEC event. Carolyn was a professor and artist-in-residence at Yale. Her work was daring and fresh and Bette was drawn to its energy. And, if she were honest with herself, she was drawn to Carolyn’s attraction to her. Carolyn was beautiful, a quintessential “California Girl”, despite her east coast upbringing. It was an easy affair. It was confined to the anonymity of the art conference world and infrequent bi-costal visits. Bette was never adverse to having a stunning woman on her arm, and the distance made an emotional attachment unlikely. And now a year after they met, Carolyn was coming to Bette’s territory. Bette shut off her iBerry and sighed.
Bette went back inside the condo. She couldn’t resist another peek in on her daughter. Her little woman.
“What a day,” she whispered to herself as she climbed into bed. Her thoughts wandered to the last time she had been with Carolyn. They had been lounging beside the hotel pool.
“Dean Porter,” whispered Carolyn, “I think you need a bit more sunscreen on your body.”

You typed “Tina” but I could have sworn I read “Sky”…lol…this was hot and I want more….I want to see a jealous Tina interact with this Carolyn and see who is the victor…as you can see I don’t ask for much….lol

You know you’re a good writer when some of the best on this site leave written comments. You should be proud b/c this story is well written with great potential. We all know that if IC should make the egregious error of NOT reuniting B & T, our fanfic writers will do it even later on in their lives. They have a chemistry that is only shared w/soulmates.

Yes, Tina is the one that Bette wants. I have an idea, why don’t you introduce Tina’s dude to Bette’s dudette and then Bette and Tina can scurry off to be by themselves.

After all this time, Bette’s heart wants what it wants, and so do other… areas, from the looks of things. Carolyn’s arrival in town should prove to be very interesting indeed. Looking forward to more, 24b&t, post soon. Thanks

The plot thickens…Bette has an on again off again liaison with Carolyn and we have yet to find out about Tina’s commitments. A lot can change in 10 years but it doesn’t appear as though Bette’s romantic leanings are subject to being altered to any great extent. More when you can!

Enjoying the pace of this story. I can’t wait for Tina AND Angelica’s reaction to Carolyn. It’s also a telling sign that Bette remembered her encounter with Carolyn, but was thinking of, and said Tina’s name.
Oooo welcome back – great to read your stuff again. It’s a interesting beginning….does Carolyn also look like Tina besides the hair? and how will Tina react when seeing Bette with Carolyn?
