    Author Notes:

    Bette, Tina and Angelica have dinner together. Angie makes a request.

       

     

    “Well we are so NOT going to the Planet,” stated Angelica, pre-empting Bette’s suggestion.  “You know Auntie Kit and Auntie Alice will be all over me.  I just can’t deal with them right now.” 

     

    “I know exactly how you feel,” Tina and Bette commiserated at the same time, laughing.

     

    “Plus they’d drop dead if we all walked in the door together,” the girl grinned.

     

    “Okay, where do you suggest?” asked Tina.

     

    “I want to go to Kikuyama,” said Angelica, her hair put up in a neat ponytail, her body freshly showered, her clothes changed and her mood much improved.

     

    “I’ve never heard of it,” said Tina.

     

    “It’s in this neighborhood,” explained Bette, “they cook your meal teppanyaki style at a table grill.  Angelica loves it because the chef always uses her mouth for target practice when he’s cooking shrimp.”

     

    Angelica smiled and opened wide, demonstrating for her mom.  “You’ll love it!” she added. 

     

    After a quick stop to pick up Tina’s car from the school, the trio set off for dinner.

     

    They enjoyed a great meal together, joking, telling stories, and forgetting the trauma of the day.  Bette and Tina loved watching Angelica’s reaction to the amusing chef, who made her a smoking volcano, popped morsels of food into her mouth, and kept pretending that he was going to burn her parents with his flaming magic.

     

    “Can I ask you something,” Angelica looked at her parents intently as they were preparing to leave.

     

    “Of course,” the two women murmured.

     

    “Can we do this, you know, be together, sometimes? 

     

    Bette and Tina exchanged a glance with each other and then both nodded yes.  “Sure.”  “Of course.”

     

    “Great.  How about we have a family dinner once a week?” suggested Angelica while attempting to pick up the last few grains of rice with her chopsticks.

     

    “We’ll see.” 

     

    “That might be a bit difficult.”

     

    The two women spoke at the same time in reaction to their daughter’s proposition.

     

    “Well that is what I want,” Angelica said sincerely, looking at each mother in turn.  “Sarah is always telling me that I need to,” she put her fingers up in the air into matching quotation marks, “communicate” she continued, “my needs to you both.”

     

    “Funny, I never thought communication was much of an issue with you,” smiled Tina as she pulled Angelica in for a hug.

     

    “Mom, I’m being serious here,” she replied.

     

    “Angie, why don’t you give your mom and me some time to talk this through, okay?  I promise, we’ll come up with something feasible,” assured Bette.

     

    “Thanks Mama,” said Angelica while resting her head on Bette’s shoulder, exhausted from the rollercoaster of emotions that day and the lateness of the hour.

     

    “I’m sorry to rush out here,” said Tina, “but I’m supposed to pick up Mikey from his game at 9:30.”

     

    “Don’t tell him I said hi,” Angelica called to her mom.

     

    “I’ll see you on Saturday morning, sweetheart,” Tina called back.  “And Bette, should I give you a call tomorrow to chat?”

     

    “I’m teaching in the morning, but will be in my office all afternoon.”

     

    “Okay, I’ll give you a ring after lunchtime.  Bye babe,” she blew a kiss to Angelica and walked out of the door.

    3. Oh my heart is bleeding because Mikey was mentioned. So, I guess that means that Tina married the jerk. Too bad, now we have to wait for them to break up so that Bette and Tina can spend time together with their baby girl (who is now 12 years old).

    4. Mikey’s still around, which means Henry’s still around… ugh. That being said, I want to see how this all evolves. This chapter and the last make for a great start, thanks for the two posts.

    8. ooooooo Mikey?!?, So is Mikey Tina’s child?!?, Im trying to think of other possibilities, Yes Denailville rofl, So like some are assumin, Tina is with HIM? *not a happy look*, So who is B’ with? or she by herself. Well, I assume, some time, her and whats his face will break up, and then our beloved Couple, can be :D lol. Post soon, likin the story.
