Dana leaned forward forcefully and pressed her lips firmly against Alice’s. The writer sank into her embrace as Dana backed her up against the wall, her right hand tenderly holding Alice’s face and stroking her hair, while her left arm drew the blonde closer to her body, pulling them together as close as possible…

Alice grinned into the searing kiss, wrapping her arms lovingly round Dana’s neck; holding on to the feeling of ecstasy washing over her.

Reluctantly, Alice pulled away when she felt the last of her breath escape her body. Dana frowned at the loss of contact. While they both took a minute to steady their composure, Alice realised that she still had unresolved issues and questions that she wasn’t sure she wanted an answer to…

Shaking her head and laughing gently, Alice said “Look at you Dane, you’re soaking! What happened?”

Dana: It’s a long story Al, there’s time for explanations in the morning, all I know right now is that I want you more than I ever have done and I’m not prepared to let anything stand in the way of that. We’re made for each other Alice. I know it, you know it, everyone knows it-

Alice: But Dane, aren’t you forgetting one crucial thing? You’re engaged! Yes, you know that I feel the same but I’m not going to be the other woman while you parade around with your masquerade of a marriage…

There was hurt evident in Alice’s tone, and as Dana realised that Alice had no idea of the hectic events in the last 24 hours she decided that she owed the writer a truthful explanation. Dana held her gaze on the floor while she started to explain…

Dana: It’s done Al, its over.

Alice: What is?

Dana rolled her eyes, for a journalist, Alice could be remarkably slow-witted sometimes… “Tonya and I… our relationship, it’s finished,” Dana took Alice’s hands in hers; “I couldn’t stay with her for a minute longer. I couldn’t be without you… she came home early, to “surprise me,” I think she was the one who got the biggest shock though. She was raving on about sponsorship deals and promotional work, but my feelings were so mixed up and I just blurted it out….”
