The short 25 minute flight was over before they knew it, but was accentuated by the fact that they were sipping on passion fruit juice, the in flight beverage, as their flight soared toward the Kahului international airport. They had seen Haleakala from the airplane window on the way over and could only imagine what a sunrise must look like from there, but they knew that they would get to find out for themselves in a couple of days.

The plane touched down gently on the runway, and the excitement that Bette and Tina felt about yet another island of paradise grew as they taxied to the terminal. A voice came over the intercom welcoming them to Maui,

“Welcome to the Valley Isle. Please enjoy your stay.”

After deplaning, they made their way over to baggage claim to pick up their luggage. Tina stayed back to retrieve the bags as Bette went off to pick up their rental car.

As she waited for the bags Tina began talking to some of the locals, asking them about the best sights and activities. She explained that they would only be on Maui for a few short days before heading off to Kauai. The locals began telling Tina about all of the must sees and must dos that their was to do on the island. Tina laughed telling them that perhaps she and Bette should have planned to stay on Maui for a longer period than they had planned, but then again, with the girls coming in tomorrow morning, she was sure that they would just be partying and probably going to luaus if the family had their way.

Bette pulled up in the rented car, and Tina said goodbye to the friends that she had just made. And after loading the bags into the car Bette helped Tina into the car, then they were off to Wailea, Maui. As they drove, Bette told Tina that she had asked local restaurants and a few came back highly recommended. Since they had yet to eat dinner, the decided that they should stop and try one of the suggested restaurants before going to the hotel for check in.

They stopped in at a local Italian eatery, and shared a bottle of wine over a candle lit dinner. The ambiance of the quaint restaurant was perfect for their relaxed and loving Hawaiian vacation.

The bellhop took their luggage to their suite, while they strolled around the hotel grounds, taking in the sights, sounds and smells of the fountains, ponds and tropical gardens. They strolled around hand in hand, taking in each and every sensation that the beautiful hotel grounds had to offer. The moon was now peeking out from behind a cloud, and began rising above the palm trees that were located all over the hotel property. After strolling around a bit more, they decided to head up to their room and check out their accommodations for the next few nights.

As they made their way through the hotel lobby and up the elevator, Bette could not keep her hands off of her gorgeous partner.
